I am new to this forum business but i have been a proud cummins owner since I started welding (2000). I have all of sudden been experiencing a little more than normal oil consumption with blueish smoke coming out the exhaust. I have 2015 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummins which has a EGR/DEF delete with EFI LIVE SOTF. I have done work on the turbo charger installed new gaskets along with a new return tube which was a PIMA. Needless to say that didnt fix the problem. All other lines in clean out with brake cleaner thourghly. Then yesterday I finished putting new seals on all 6 injectors one by one. The injector tips were pretty dirty with soot. I cleaned them with brake cleaner but thatbwas all. I didnt open them up what so ever. My other thought was the IPump maybe a seal was leaking fuel into the oil compartment. I have no misfire, no sputtering, I have loss of power on the take off from a complete stop but once its going its fine but blow bluish smoke. The wierd thing to is that my fuel mileage has gotten better from 15 miles per gallon to 19. Hope I could some knd of help. Thanks

Check the charge air tubing from the turbo to the intercooler for oil residue.

Whenever i swapped turbos I checked to see if there was any residue but there wasnt any. I do want to note that I do still have some form of liquid that I can only suspect to be oil that seeps the through exhaust pipe flanges under the truck. It just blows my mind that the truck has no check engine light no blow by, has no trouble starting/or turning off, does not misfire/sputter, just has no take off juice, oil consumption. With blue smoke.‍♂️

Have you change the CCV filter? Not sure about the excess oil from the exhaust flanges. Not really sure how delete could effect things. Deletes can create issues with many things. It's your choice on that, just watch out on the enforcement has been ramping up across the country. Shops are fined for working on a deleted vehicle as they are classed as off road only and in some areas, no lead way what so ever. Case in NJ were they made an owner scrap his truck! Just watch out!

Not surprised there aren’t any codes, the engine doesn’t monitor stuff that would cause oil to burn.

You could pull the turbo and see how the hot side seals are. You could also run a compression test.

CCV filter has also been taken out. I have a hose down beside the frame. Im about to check that out as soon as I finished writing this thread. And too I may just do a compression test today too. Then hopefully I can get a diesel shop to run diagnostics the same day I take it in

Valve guide seals?
My air filter was replaced with a S and B cold air intake assembly but did use reusable filter. I will be taking that off and replacing it with the other one. I do have an update. I took my truck in to diesel performance shop here in town and was told that my turbo was shot again that my actuator or the turbo wouldnt get to where it needed to be 100. That it would reach less than 50% even at idle so it blew the seals. His recommendations was to replace it with a fixed or non vgt turbo. Which he will be installing a new kit for it

Bye bye exhaust brake!

Not a good idea, but hey, everything else is gone so, why not the turbo? Your turbo’s not the problem. Your engine and everything on it were designed to work together, as unit. When folks start changing parts and removing complete systems, problems start showing up. There are a lot of trucks out there in stock form that are worked hard everyday, that aren’t having the problems you are. I dare say, they’re doing it as well or even better than your truck, too.

We use to call it a "slippery slope" I believe.

Yep, but it ain’t the old days no more.

Exactly! It’s a very different world we live in.

I had more fun tweaking/building my 5.9 than any other rig, yet I can’t think of anything worth tweaking on my 6.7.

I‘ll probably find some stuff to upgrade on the truck, but it’s unlikely to be anything on the powertrain.

YUCK!!! Pick get out of "the Hole" from a stop light or full power at max RPM towing a grade. There is a reason variable turbo's are on factory engines and that's because they do both without compromise. Smoke from spooling a big turbo is why we have the DPF equipment today. Careful aftermarket tuning for no smoke wasn't so common.

Any warranty on current turbo?

As mentioned above your rings may be dusted. How is the blowby situation?

You got enough crankcase pressure to blow the turbo seals?

How about a turbo drain problem like a kinked hose etc?

Well gentlemen I appreciate.... wait no I dont!! For some of yall yes thanks. But the others!!! What are yall environmental extremist lib's. More concern of the atmosphere than to actually help. And the ones concern about helping my truck is now work a hell of alot better and efficient without the VGT.(I didnt hear you). Also we can agree to disagree about all horrible crap they have put in our trucks. All it does is recirculate and clog up everything ruining an awesome engine but for what all for the EPA!!! GIVE ME A BREAK. Again thanks and no thanks but im out of here. Way to much Lib replies for me.
