Ok so apparently this new to me truck is smarter than I am. When I bought the truck the rear tires had 80 psi in them according to 2 pressure gauges I have. (Double checked to verify what it said on the dashboard). I was ok with that because we were going to be doing a decent amount of towing for a few weeks. Today I went on a 100plus mile trip with no trailer so I decided to air down the rear tires. Dropped them to 60psi and now I get a low tire warning and a message to fill the rear tires to 80. Any way to stop this? The rear tires will probably not have more than 60 in them until next summer. I hate having any lights on in the dash. 2015 club cab long box if it matters. Thank you

Just a side note......as silly as it is....your 2500 can't haul enough weight to necessitate 80 psi in the rear even though the pressure monitor expects this.

For reference, I too have a 2015 2500. When towing 10-12k, I have 60-65 in the rear (depending on how I load it). Empty, I run 40 psi in the rear which is also higher than it really should be.

As above, I have the Alpha OBD app and changed my thresholds, so now my rear tires don't alarm until I am in the mid 30's.

I guess I need to look into this Alpha obd app. Thanks

@CRHardie, You'll love the AlfaOBD app! It'll allow you to change settings, program FOBIKS, read and clear codes along with data to help resolve issues. It runs on Android or Windows OS. Most also use the MX+ Bluetooth dongle to connect to the truck. If you have an iPhone, you can get an Android tablet to run it on. First thing that you would need to do once you get it, is to download the truck config file. That way you;ll have a reference to compare to if you make a mistake. Also helpful to keep a log book on what you've changed. You'll be able to pull pin number with it to access the RF HUB which is where you can program FOBIKS. I've turned on the VTA (vehicle theft alarm) along with programming extra FOBIKS. Turned on DRL with front turn signal bulbs. I wish I had it when I installed remote start! I could have saved a couple $! You'll even be able to check tail lights on both the truck and trailer with it. No more will you need help with checking the lights! It's packed with great features for the price. Plenty of help around once you get it. And as others have mentioned, Tire pressure will make a HUGE difference in how the truck rides and handles! Enjoy the truck!
