Programing Key Fob??

3500 Air Bags

How worn were they? I hit the wear bars before 20K miles. Next new one make sure the dealer keeps em and ride off the lot on good rubber instead!

That’s about the only good thing about those tires… they wear like iron. I’ll measure them in the next day or two, for selling, but probably 2/3 tread remaining with 13K miles on them. Lots of towing too.

Got the new Duratrac RT-LT’s into some snow and ice this morning. Big grin!!

Heading up the hill to go ski there was about a 1 mile stretch where the road was sheer ice. It must have snowed on warm asphalt and then froze. FWD cars were struggling, and turning around. RWD vehicles didn’t stand a chance without chains. There were even some 4WD/AWD rigs turning around.

I had decent traction in 2WD, but 4WD was rock solid. Better than anyone I saw around me.

When the road turned to compact snow I was able to use 2WD without any slipping, just as a test, up a 6-7% winding grade.

Needless to say, I’m quite happy.

Been reviewing the Goodyear Duratrac for my year round use . Are you just running them winter time or planning on year round ?

Year round, aside from 2 months of hunting season. I have some Cooper ST Maxx’s for that since I want the taller sidewall of the 18’s and a tough tread for the nasty roads where we hunt. Two seasons and the tires are already torn up more than most will see.

I’d recommend looking at the Duratrac RT vs the standard 3PMSF Duratrac, I think it’s a better all year tread and it has a mileage warranty.

Anyone got info on the Cooper Discoverer ATP II?

This is a Discount Tire exclusive. I run them and if it wasn't for road hazards like I posted a couple pages back...
They ride better than the trashforce tires. Night and day no longer considering suspension mods for softer ride better!
Don't have the "green tire squirm" like Michelin tires are known for and never completely goes away for Michelin's.
Quiet even with the tread pattern.
So far tread life is longer than the OEM Trashforce on our hot dry abrasive roads. I expect around 40K out of them vs the ~20K out of the OEM's. Note our extreme heat and roads are harder on tires than most areas in regards to faster wear.

I use them mostly as a pavement pounder and IMO they are doing better than the highway treads. The thread pattern allows better traction in campgrounds than a highway tire without going all out on an off-road tire. Monsoon rain is the worst they see. Others will have to comment on snow/ice if that's your concern.

They are at 9/32nds and new is 16/32nds.

Is the RT quieter I hope?

My Firestone HT are at 22k rotated twice wore very evenly and I just measured them at 6-7 /32 . If 2/32 are wore out I will get my summer driving out of them.About 4-5 k expected this summer season . New tires next October before winter

Not sure why anyone would want to pay $261 a tire for Firestone HT being they don't have any mileage warranty...

Really liking the tires. I’ve got over 1K miles on them, with close to 600 miles at 85 mph at they’re quiet!

My heated steering wheel failed in December and I finally had time to take it in. The clock spring failed and they replaced it. Not the first bad clock spring I’ve heard about on the newer trucks. Hopefully the replacement is the upgraded one.

The dealership also updated the Aisin TCM software and it’s awesome. No complaints before, but this new one is great. It holds lower gears a little longer and feels peppier. It’s not annoying like TH empty, but certainly is an improvement when empty.

I have used Good Year Duratrac for several years now up here in Canada. Love them in winter, but run them year round. Best tire I ever had.
I had my steering wheel heater replaced last year and clock spring. They have to replace it again this year, but told me they are ordering the whole steering wheel as well.....also had the blinker in passenger mirror act up, they replaced the whole mirror assembly and it is still not working properly.
They say the will need truck for another 2 days and do some more tracing....All I can say thank God I prchased the extended warranty....
