Anyone get an e-mail from Geno's about this? I assume there will be an article about it, soon, on TDR. It is on their website blog.

In a nut shell, the primary filter backorder has been pushed back again. Stellantis has authorized this new filter.

Interesting, the article names Baldwin as the oem for Mopar.

comments?
I have been waiting for one fuel filter that was back ordered and received the same email. I will probably wait for the mopar filter to come in but i thought the email would generate some responses

I will probably wait too. I have two from a Mopar online vendor, so I am good. They are out there, I found 3 Mopar vendors with stock. Even the secondary filter was on backorder for a bit (Geno's) but I have my order on those now.

Yes I got that email.

I don't need any filters so unless they discontinue the Mopar, I can wait.

At somepoint they could just cancel all the orders. It happens alot with products past year or so.

There is a cascade effect that happens with these things and the demand out weighs the supply and they just give up.

Or there was a bigger issue with the supply of this one.

The one I have on hand, the used one that came out of thr truck, and the one I installed were all 2022 date code.

Yes, I ran into that on some Mopar sites as well, it is the complete assembly, I posted that info here:

Geno's sells that too for a lot less, but it is on backorder too, 07/31/24. That would be a last resort thing.

The new filters I received have a date of 12/07/23.

Rock Auto carries the Baldwin PF46152.

Yeah my bet is these get canceled, based on no information what so ever. Which is no big deal, it appears there are options out there for quality approved filters.

The dealer across the street had these in stock and plucked it in less the 10 seconds and I was out the door in less then 5 minutes, so they are out there.

They were little less then $100 for the AA part number. Some folks on here can see national dealer stock levels of this stuff.

Who knows if it's a real shortage or an allocation issue, where they can make x # per month and the dealer network.absorbs those, then there is super limited supply for the secondary market.

To add to this, Stellantis is now requiring the fuel filter to be changed as part of the HPFP recall on the EcoDiesel. So that will eat more of the supplies.
