Tire Load Range Ratings

New project:) First thing first. Get rid of the standard top wind jack that is on most horse/stock trailers. I am a fan of the 5k side wind, with drop foot. I might keep the GMC hub caps:D

@NIsaacs, Like the tire iron storage! On your pre-trip walk around, you'll see it's there! Takes the guess work out of trying to find it. I keep a 4-way in the toolbox, just in case. I carry it for when I stop to help someone with a flat! Bets the "tire iron" that's included in today's vehicles. I'd say to keep the caps, or get a set of "baby moons" instead. Can't wait to see what you decide to finish to your liking.

Strange coincidence but one just listed here for sale local. '98, 25' tandem dually.

Nicks used trailer sales and repair:D

This trailer was still available, so I picked it up, nice trailer. '98 Redi Haul, 25', 25K gvwr. I will do a minor tune up and move it. Way too big for my use/2500. Note hitch weight tag.

The dump is a customer, needs axle alignment, lights and hydraulic leaks tended to.

Yeah it is funny how they start adding up.

I know we started with a small 10' utility trailer for the llamas then added an atv, and more llamas. The utility trailer was getting to small for the llamas and the wood sides were a pain to take on and off and it still had no roof so then we got a two horse trailer to the haul llamas around with , then a 5th wheel, then a 12' dump trailer for hauling slash off the property and dump runs, then we got a Kubota CTL which wouldn't fit on the dumper due to weight and length so we got an 18' equipment trailer for it. Hopefully we are done with buying trailers.

Not finished with my refurbish but we are using it as is. It is going to make a fine trailer. The rust and rot, is from the inside out, from poor housekeeping.

Started working on the big trailer. Moved the spare tire mount to a better, more user friendly location. Installed the ball coupler and checked the break away battery. It is huge, never seen one that big, garden tractor size. It is old and dead, so I need a new one. It can run a small winch. I might need to install new tires, they are old and out of round. If I do, I will order them in and mount them myself. 9.50x16.5's are easy to mount/dismount.

How would you guys read this date code? The way I understand it, prior to 2000, they used a 3 digit code, after 2000 a 4 digit code. So, 038 is 3rd week of '98? The tires are original and 26 years old? They are Good Year LT's, 10 ply nylon. No way a radial would last that long. I ordered a set of Power King, 10ply nylon LT's. Not going to run these:D

About half done. Did I say these tires were easy to hand mount? What was I smoking, lol. I keep forgetting, that was then...

I was a little nervous about the date code since this is not a popular size, but 1024 is good. Seem to be a fine, heavy duty tire. Made in Thailand, the Goodyears were made in Venezuela. I mounted one of the best ones on an old oem Ford wheel, I carry for my equipment trailer, as an extra spare when I travel long distance. It had a real old 8.75 Power King on it. I don't like that small size, but they were free at the time...I have a second one I will do the same thing with. I have a hard time throwing all that rubber away, I won't save the 8.75's:) This trailer, just has not been used. 26 years old and the original tires are about 60-70%.

I ordered a full set of oil bath hub caps and seals. 12v98 twisted my arm, so I went with unitized this time. Thats what was on it. I have had trouble with them, way back when they first started using them, but I think they have improved since then.

Montezuma Utah, if it is the same one I know of, not far at all from the Colorado border nw part of the Navajo Reservation talk about middle of nowhere, not much going on out there. Have driven through there many times cutting over from Cortez CO to eastern Utah.

200,000 lbs wow that is about 50 yards of concrete
