Programing Key Fob??

3500 Air Bags

I see you want to stay stock. With that camper have you upgraded the shocks and added a swaybar? Those two items dramatically improve handling. Airbags will level it out but the first two items erally help.

He has the auto-level suspension, so factory airbags and heck of a spring setup that’s pretty impressive at controlling roll. An anti-swaybar couldn’t hurt, but my bone stock OEM auto-level suspension handles higher CG loads better than my 05 did with aftermarket airbags and a hellwig antisway bar.

Is the AISIN update for all or specific years? I still have been waiting out the recall for the tailgate latch, but might be convinced to take it in if its worth it. Just had the truck ceramic coated and looks great, kinda don't want a tech bent over the fender scratching it up though... LOL.

Honestly I’m not sure. I didn’t even realize one was available. I can post up the SW revision later and see if there is a TDB or anything to go with it.

Well, big changes happening here and though I’d update this thread first.

After 18 years of Cummins ownership I no longer own one. I traded the 2022 in on a 2025 Sprinter 144” High Roof AWD Van that the wife and are going to build into a camper. It’s very bitter sweet and a big, really big, change for us. Since we still have kids at home a 2-3 (maybe 3) pax camping can won’t be one stop shopping for a couple years so we’re keeping the 5th wheel. We also need a rig with some payload for hauling, when we’re successful, wild game home from the woods. So I needed to sustain a pickup, and found a 2017 2500 6.4/4.10 Hemi with 153K for a great deal and bought it. Continuing my Dodge/Ram trend it’s a white, 4 door, long bed.

The 2022 was a great truck, best one I’ve ever owned, and I hope it serves the next owners well. It was starting to show slight signs of the dreaded 2022 DPF issues at 32K miles but maybe that was fluke.

The Hemi (already put the wheels off my 2018 onto it, time for new rubber… kinda hate the Cooper ST Maxx’s)

I will wait for the "Rest of the Story" I assume one is coming:)

Not much there (unlike most big life decisionso_O$… “going to build it into a camper” is the crux of it.

A van is much better suited for ski camping, camping at trailheads, quick camping trips, back roads, day trips snowshoeing/hiking, etc. Looking forward to being a single vehicle without the drawbacks of a slide-in.

Maybe a build story in the future. A dedicated camper indicates retirement or soon to be? Specs on the van, 2500/3500? I would think the gasser 2500 Ram will be fine towing your RV.

Military retirement is 3-7 years out, but I’ll likely have another mini career of sorts. Maybe just a part time job, who knows.

The van is a 2500 2.0 twin turbo diesel with a 9 speed. Super smooth and plenty of power for the application. It has over 3500lbs of payload, so we should be good there.

MB did make a super single 3500 is previous years but the tires aren’t the same size front to rear which didn’t seem worth it for the minimal gain in payload.

The 6.4/4.10 combo should do just fine with 10-12K behind it, which is the most I usually tow. A B&W turnover ball is in the mail.

For the Camper build, generally, try to avoid the "camper" grade parts and go for the yacht/marine grade parts, more expensive but they work and often are not a lot more expensive.
Almost everything I've chosen camper grade (which is little) failed sooner or later down the road. Even a water faucet..
If you have questions about the build send me PMs.

Yea definitely planning on marine parts, not only for quality but since I also have a good source for them.
