    Tailgate strength

Thanks for the info and advice. I'm taking off Wednesday morning to pick up an Arctic Cat TBX so the post with the H1 was of particular note. I won't have time to purchase any supports before I go, plus once I get the ATV back here and unloaded I'll be trailering it on future trips. The...

    Tailgate strength

I'm trying to figure out how stout the tailgate on my '06 2500 is. I'll be loading a rather heavy ATV (742#) onto the bed. With my bulk on board the ATV, the total weight is pushing 1,000#. With ramps fixed to the outer edge of the tailgate, am I going to be overloading the gate?

    Electrical Stuff

Test set is a "Hoppy" product - www.trailerwiring.com then page 2 of misc. I bought mine through Northern Tool. I built a fuse box with female 7-way epoxied to it on one side and male pig-tail out the other side. It plugs between my trailer and into the tow package 7-way of the truck. In...

    Electrical Stuff

I think that a word of caution is in order. There were posts earlier in the year of members frying a three hundred dollar module because some of the trailer wiring is not fuse protected and their trailer wiring was shorted or incorrect. A couple of the posters built fuse protection into the line...

    trailer 7 pin wiring 2006 3500

On a different thread about the same subject, anyfx posted a picture and description of a fuse box he built to plug between the truck's connector and the trailer connector. I like his idea and am trying to build a similar fuse box, however, I've run into a problem finding a 6 circuit fuse block...

    Dual cam for light trailer

Thanks. I sent an e-mail to Reese, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I'll no doubt go the friction device route; I just liked the idea of getting ahead of the sway rather than reacting to it. But, it looks like the dual cam would be too much for the light trailer.

    Dual cam for light trailer

I plan to tow a light weight folding trailer behind my 06 2500. Obviously, the towed weight of 2000# to 3000# (according to how the trailer is loaded) is no problem for the diesel Dodge. I've put 350# on the rear bumper and the rear doesn't go down at all, so weight distribution isn't an issue...

    Reply to Kirwin

Kirwin asked a question which was way off the original subject of my thread regarding the Check Gauges Light on my '06 which turned out to be the false battery temp P0504 which has been resolved by a newly available reflash. The question is regarding my '93 W250 which the '06 was to replace...

    Check Gauges Light

The '93 remains; this is quite a departure from the original subject and I don't want to abuse my posting privledges, so I'll start a new thread, "Reply to Kirwin" and answer your question more fully.

    '06 battery ambient temp

Thanks for the great information! I can hardly wait to try the three on/off with my truck - that would be really useful for the future. I'll pursue the CANBUS lead too. I did some Internet research today and the only thing that specifies 2006 is Superchips 3805 Flashpaq. The literature for the...

    '06 battery ambient temp

Well, I'd sure like to try this one again. After I asked if anyone was experiencing the Check Gauges Light remaining on 1/17 and got 65 viewers but no replies, I did some more research and found that indeed this same issue was discussed on this forum 12/26/04 regarding '05 trucks. While waiting...

    Check Gauges Light

After adding up the things I needed to fix before I could rely on my 1st Gen '93 W250 I decided it was time to replace it. I found pretty much the same truck, updated to 2006 technology, at my local dealers and was able to buy it. I love the truck, though I must admit that I miss the raw diesel...

    Steering concern

My first time trying to attach pictures - if all goes well there will be three pictures. The first shows the completed connection with the set screw at the bottom. The second shows the shaft and gear stub connected, but the set screw is removed and the collar loose. The third shows the shaft and...

    Steering concern

The roll pin is part of the OEM coupler attachment. The Borgeson uses a set-screw. The more I thought about it, in addition to a piucture or two, a sketch with measurements might be more useful. I have not measured the length of attachment, but it is 3/4 inch at most. On a large, heavy vehicle...

    Steering concern

I'll try to get a digital picture this weekend and post early next week. There may be some delay as it is supposed to rain through Tuesday. The connection I'm concerned about is the one at the U-joint end of the Borgeson where it fits over the splined shaft/stub that comes out of the steering...
