Does anyone know what the sensor is that is hung off the drivers side of the adapter between the 48re and the t-case? 2 wire plastic connector.
Truck is 04. 5, ran over a stick and broke the sensor off... Lucky me
I have seen other posts about low cooling or the duct/valve problems, but never seen anything on the ultra loud "clunk" that is heard and felt when my ac cycles on.
Mine has been so bad that when starting the truck with the ac already on it has made the engine stumble. A diesel with this...
Towing:
Same setup on 04. 5 2500 with 3. 73 gears.
75mph with 38ft tripple axle 5th wheel double slide (heavy trailer) flat towing in TX with a little wind. Not scarry
Works great with a little car hauler and about 6K lbs also...
I do recomend the air bags in the back as it will...
I like heat from torch in combination with a come-a-long or strap. When I did mine I was able to heat the connections up with a torch while strapped up to a tree behind the truck. The heat with constant pull worked great. This combo was the only way mine was coming off... :D
OK This might be usefull for others...
My problem was a blown 15 Amp fuse on #24. Symptoms were:
1. No brake controller harness feed juice when the brake was activated.
2. Also no juice on the actual brake light switch mounted on the brake control lever under the dash.
3. Brake...

The factory 4 conductor blue brake controller harness has the 12v DC constant power but no brake feed power when the brake is depressed with the key on (or off). I have also checked...
My 04. 5 lasted 1 week after I rolled off the lot, on both doors! Buddy's about 2 weeks. Really bad QC on this design, it may be the way they are aligning the doors/body on good/bad days in Mexico...
