Seems like I read a post somewhere about fuel line leak problems inside the tank on long bed pickups. These would cause fuel starvation with partially empty tanks when the fuel level fell below the break or leak. You might do a search on that. Charlie.
How about a dremel tool with a small grinder tip? You're going to ruin what threads you've cut if you punch it out. Grind away the center of the tap and the threaded remains should be easily removed with needle nose or tweezers. Charlie.
My opinion--pillar mount. You can't look at any of them without taking your eyes off the road, and all the others just look hokey to me. This opinion is worth exactly what it cost you. Charlie.
It didn't take me long to start tweaking my 98 12 valve bought used. It was one sick mama... now much improved! I'd probably have to let some of the new wear off if I had a brand new one, though. Being a poor boy, I have little experience with new anything except wives. . and they are tough to...
It sounds to me like you have an air suction leak causing the foaming and overfill condition. Is it possible the filter is installed incorrectly, or that the valve body may have some loose bolts? How about an air leak in the return line from the radiator? Something is causing that foaming...
Did the '03 come out with hydraulic lifters? If not, I doubt if your noise is a lifter... the mechanical lifters would not come and go like that. Their noise would be steady and repetitive. How about lift pump or injector pump? Try using a piece of welding rod as a probe/stethoscope to...
GAmes, I agree with your statement on the impact on RV sales, But I hope the reference to 45mph travel doesn't materialize. My rig runs best around 60mph and I can tow in overdrive at that speed (barely). No way my automatic could stand the low line pressures if I tried to drive at 45, and I...
I had he same beef with my '98, so I found the box containing the chime under the dash and disavled it by driving a screw against the chime diaphragm just hard enough to silence it. It will still draw some current, so don't leave the door open forever, but you don't have to listen to it. I've...
My old shop teacher used to say "There's three kinds of liars... there's liars, d**n liars and statistics. " I believe the latter one combined with media coverage causes more damage than all the diesel smoke we can ever generate. Charlie.
Anyone ever have the cruise engage ok but then accelerate several mph before finally settling back to the original setting? I tried the set/cancel fix several times, but it still won't quite lock and stay steady. Ideas? Charlie.
I incorporated a cutoff switch activated by the brake pedal into the lockup circuit. This avoids the transmission shake if you forget to unlock BUT it will lock up again when you hit second gear (automatic transmission). For the most part, I have found the lockup switch to be of little value in...
