Yea thanks bud it was a special ordered truck direct from mopar... one of one... very rare! It as part of the towing package because the aam diff couldn't handle the payload.
Hey guys just though id get your feedback on something. I was heading back from work today and i noticed my speedo wasn't working and the abs/ brake light was lit up. I keep reading that it is common and i have to replace the speed sensor on the trans and rear end but i can't seem to find the...
Hey guys. Just a quick question that I am trying to find the answer for. Does anyone know the reason why cummins swapped over from a 12 valve to a 24 valve setup. I was always told that it was to quiet the motors down a little but I feel like there is much more to it than that. Figured I'd pick...
How did the chain look. Did it have a lot of slack or were the gear teeth worn. A good way to check it is to put the truck in 4 wheel drive, in park and jack the front of the truck in the air so that the wheels are off the ground. Then try to rotate the front driveshaft and see how much play is...

I am on the east coast over in ct. So maybe ill pickup a used 48re and have someone build it out so i have one ready when mine craps out. Is there anything specific that i would have to change in the trans or just have someone rebuild it to oe specs?
Hey guys so I have an 05 cummins with a loaded utility body a crane and an air compressor. My truck does a lot of stop and go driving with a heavy load and it is taking a toll on my transmission. I was wondering if there is a better upgrade for my 48re that can take this kind of beating on a day...
It's most likely the transfer case. Had the same pop bang sound that you described happen on my truck. I had a feeling it was the transfer case.So I swapped it out and never had a problem since. I cracked open my old transfer case and found that the chain was so loose that it was skipping teeth...
Hey guys. so I finally found the problem with my buddies transmission. for a while his fuel solenoid was giving him problems and I didn't think that would effect the trans at all. Come to find out that the pull relay was bad and it was drawing too much amps away from the trans. If you read on...
Thanks I'll pull the connections and clean the up and see how it behaves. I forgot to mention too that it has a new transmission and we replaced the governor pressure solenoid and the transducer solenoid as well.
