Bought my 04 in 2006 with 89k on the clock, really trouble free (except rebuilt the trans twice on the way to 360k). at about 375k had intermittent low oil pressure light. at 390183 engine locked up. it had spun a bearing causing the low oil pressure at startup, and I just ran it til it died...

well, i tried to take the easy way out and just connect the pressure fuel line to the unplugged fuel pump, but I cant get any fuel thru it. its amazing that i got 5 years of service with it plumbed wrong, and nothing now. renewed my search for the tube and banjo bolts....

umm, that makes sense. actually the 'pump' was on the take out engine and the installer moved it over to the replacement. I guess the lift pump was installed in the tank, but the original pump was never removed and fuel has just been pumping thru the unplugged pump. for at least the last 300k...

I wanted to have 'every' part i needed before pulling it apart, so i ordered new tubes, (the old ones looked fine), They didnt come with the injectors. The description was 'fits 5.9 & 6.7 instead of the two ball bearings, there's one long piece in its place. I'll look for posts on the 6.7 tube...

any harm in running 2 old injectors with 4 new ones for a few days? test run about 6 miles, lots of grey smoke at beginning, figure thats just liquid fuel burning off. The initial problem (knock & smoke under load) is gone Havent 'put my foot in it' yet. Being gentle til the new injectors
