My day job involves working with hydraulic fluids and filtration for a major OEM. I work with filter and fluid manufacturers frequently and get involved with a lot of troubleshooting. Engine oil, fuel, and hydraulic filters typically use the same standard for specifying the filtration...
The pump is very quiet - I really don't notice an increase in noise. It is pushing through 3 filters, a Fleetguard FS19732 (Mopar Severe Duty Kit), Baldwin PF7977, and a Cat 1R0750 with the pressures I listed.
They offered lifetime warranty if you follow the registration instructions. Seems...
I did the Fleece in-tank replacement 5 months ago. Really a clean install and it works well. I like having the pump submerged in fuel - no issues with draw straws and sumps. Pressure ranges from 21-23 psi after the final filter. Did it as a PM. Took off the bed to install it.
Just saw your post and also had weak P2s that I had installed in 2012. Odyssey bought Northstar and Odyssey was the supplier to Sears but I could not find a pair for under $600. I found a pair of Deka/East Penn AGMs at a local Farm & Fleet for about $150 each. The errors disappeared and starter...
I did some searches looking for the fuel quick connector parts but must not have the right terms. I'm installing a new in tank lift pump and trying to find the little plastic / nylon locking tabs for the fuel hose quick connectors. The local Mopar parts store says they don't have/sell them...
Looking for input regarding re-using vs new bolts when changing injectors. I've read some comments on the web which suggest using new bolts when replacing injectors on CR engines. I don't recall seeing this in factory manuals, but looking for feedback. All my torque tools are fully calibrated...
I've had a vinyl Access cover for 5 years and it works well, but no lock. Bought the locking tailgate handle from Genos so it locks now. Won't stop the cutting, it works for me.
Yes, the severe duty filter right after the tank has the heater wired in, but it is a good point. I'm considering some filter wrap heaters I see being offered for systems running fuel made from animal fats and deep fryers. I spent 3 winters keeping diesels running on Alaska's North Slope and we...
Number 6 injector coil failed on my 07 5.9 in 2015 at 104,000 miles. I did a full replacement with those miles and used all new Bosch OEMs (0445120238) with new Bosch feed tubes. Filtration was upgraded with Mopar severe duty fuel filter by the tank and a Cat final filter between the OEM filter...
Mopar changed from a base that would work to a proprietary base which really limits the replacement choices. I purchased a Fleetguard base the came with the right threads which allowed modification of the kit so I could use common filters. I did a writeup a while back and included instructions...
