Mine was a map sensor.

It was not the pump on mine it was the map sensor.

I have been fighting the same thing. VP44 did not cure it. My last try was to change the map sensor and so far so good. But it has gone away before and returned. My would do it when it was really hot but recently started doing it when it was cold as well.

I have had a problem with brushes also. I just removed them and reinstalled them and it worked fine after that.

I have had them for about 5k miles on my dually. They do not ride as well as the original Michilins but the wet traction seems to be better for me.
