My truck has a howl to it as well when letting off the fuel - in nuetral, park and in drive - it's worse when cold as well. I'm thinking turbo, intercooler leak, or exhaust resonation but..... there are other similar threads on this as well. Does yours make the noise in neutral and park?
car-man1, please let us know if turbo replacement resolves your problem. I have same howl when the engine winds down - it does it in drive, park and neutral - I'm no mechanic and don't have very much knowledge regarding these trucks, but I think that must leave the howing up to the...
