I think the sound is in sinc with the rotation of the axle. That's why I thought it was tires until it started getting loud and sounding like someone is hammering the bottom of my truck. I am planning on taking it to my local transmission shop Monday if I can't find out what it is before then. I can't...
I have been listening to a sound that I was told is coming from my tires. So I had been waiting until they were worn out until I replaced them. This week the sound turned into a banging that gets louder when I accelerate and goes away when I coast. I got under my truck with the transmission in...
Thanks, I will ask John about it once the part arrives. I will make sure I have the correct tool to complete the job before I start taking things apart... ... ... . BK
I found this TSB which describes my oil leak. I went to Carson Dodge and ordered the bushing # 4874879 listed on their computer. But I don't think it comes with any type of installation tool. Has anyone performed this TSB and if so what are the procedures for getting the new bushing installed...
I just put one on last week. I got it from NAPA ( 120 amp ) for 160. 00. Make sure you have the correct pulley on it. Do not give them the core until you check the pulley. I had to have them change pulley's after I ate up one serpentine belt before I realized the pulley's were slightly...
This morning I hit it with some more contact cleaner and it is working fine. I'll probably get a new TPS tomorrow and install it. I will check the voltage and adjustments after the install when I have time. I agree that spending money and not setting it up properly isn't the correct thing to do...
I replaced mine a few years ago. I don't remember it being that expensive. I got it from Carson Dodge and think it was in the 50. 00 range... ... ... ... . BJ
Thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. I was going to take the easy route, unless a problem occurs I will just install the TPS and drive it to see how it performs... ... ... . Thanks BJ
After reading up on the forum about why my transmission will come out of lock-up often, I now think I need to replace my TPS. I have gotten to the point where squirting contact cleaner on the shaft works for shorter and shorter periods of time. ( I have separated the wires and changed the temp...
I have noticed a slight change in the sound of my drivetrain lately. It seems that at about 35-40 mph I have a slight grinding/rubbing type of sound that feels like it's coming from under my feet. I have a 94 auto/4wd. My trans (BD)is two years old with about 32k on it. My transfer case has a...
While searching for an oil leak around the power steering/vaccum pump area I noticed what appeared to be a rubber cover that is built as though it is supposed to fit tight against the engine. It is warped at both the top and bottom causing it to be pulled away from the engine by about 1/2 an...
Whatever you do please REMOVE the old caulk. If you do not you will only be asking for problems when the seal on the bottom begins to leak and you can't find it. ALL manufacturers recommend this or they will not warranty their products. Dicor does have the best products for sealing your roof...
Is it too much weight
I am sure you will have no problem towing anything up to the listed legal weight. As a mater of fact you can go to an even greater weight if you make a few simple changes. But if you want to maintain the factory warranty and keep the truck stock you will still be fine.
I...
