    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) auto shudder on takeoff

sounds to me like a torque converter problem, surprising if the truck is used only occasionally to tow. Must be a heavy tow. Low ATF will give a different result, been there and done that. With low ATF the truck will set there like in neutral for a few seconds before enough fluid is sent to the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) guage installation

Gauge install I would suggest getting power from the fuse block using and "Add-A-Circuit" and piggy backing onto a switched circuit. Since the gauge dosnt require many amps it can be protected by a 1 or 2 amp fuse and the base circuit can still have it's original power capacity and fuse. I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 7 Mpg ???

My ride is similar to yours, except for the year and differential gear ratio (see signature) I'm pulling about 11,000 lbs and am getting 11 to 12 mpg (calculated). The overhead readout shows about 1 mpg higher. Something has to be wronge to drop your mpg to 7. I would have the truck checked...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) pyro gauge install

I attached mine to the side of the stearing column support bracket with double sided adheasive tape. The bracket has a flat area on the left side that was large enough for my amplifier box, the bracket looks like it is aluminum. By the way, I was able to thread the wires up the pillar...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) torque converter shudder

I have been going thru the process of getting the "Shudder" out of my life. Had Auto-loc, & Torque-loc installed so the exhaust brake would have significant effect. Then added the Edge EZ and found that under heavy load (accelerating up hill or pulling the fiver and getting up to cruising speed)...

TC, VB, what's the problem ?

Since I brought the fluid up to where it should be, the problem in my first post has dissapeared. I just hope that there is no latent damage that will showup later. All the add-on's seem to be doing there job. With the TC locked up the EZ really shows it's stuff. Now I just have to get the...

TC, VB, what's the problem ?

Hey Mopar . The ATF was 2 quarts low. What do you think about the prospect of damage? I can't think of any other reason that the fluid would be low other than it wasn't replaced when the VB was installed. No apparant leakage, ie: no spots on the drive way and no excessive coating on the transmission...

TC, VB, what's the problem ?

Hey, thanks Fox. You caused a wake-up call. I assumed that the mechanic that installed the valve body also brought the ATF back up to full. Wronge. The moral of the story is dont take any thing for granted. Thanks again for your input. Dick

    New Dodge - Edge EZ

EZ is great. Watch out for the high EGT's. That's a problem I have to get under control now. I'l have to look into the boost elbow or turnbuckle solutions as temp's climb real fast when I put my foot into it. Also you may have torque converter slippage if you are going to tow. I've got a post...

TC, VB, what's the problem ?

I'm sure that some of you will have some good advise on my problem. As you can see by my signature, I've tried to properly set up my truck to pull my 10k fiver. The valve body was the last item to be installed. Prior to that install, I was getting T. C. slippage under heavy load (which I...
