you should get it scanned,1693 =dtc detected in a companion module. it should have other codes that will not show up on your trip odometer display. what you are describing sounds like the apps sensor going bad. Chris

1693 means a code has been set in a companion module. meaning your chrysler computer see;s a code in the cummins engine computer.

try puttting some silicone type grease on your output shaft splines. this seams to be a common problem on other types of trucks we see in our shop. the problem is called spline bind up try this and see!!! this usually happens after we install rebuilt transmission... Chris. ;) ;) ;)
