I got my truck back Saturday morning. No charge to me. New pcm and new turbo. Drove up to Shaver lake after I got it. Took it up hwy168, 7% grade for 10 miles to 5500' feet. Empty, it ran fine. I drove it harder than normal, ran great. For now. Drove a power wagon today..... I like it...

avg mph? 39 mpg this year? 18 It's not the engine I don't like, it's all the smog crap that goes with it. Has anyone replaced their SCR system yet? How much is that? I know when one goes out at work on the ISL engine in the Freightliner's it's about $5K. The truck is still at the...

I'm glad they're putting on the turbo. It doesn't cost me anything. Then I can go another amazing 50,000 miles before it needs another turbo! By then it should need an EGR and maybe, if I'm lucky, a new SCR!! These new diesels are a money pit. Thanks EPA. Now, do I search craigslist and...

Dealer called today. Truck needs a turbo. 48,000 miles and it needs a freakin turbo. What a joke. VGT, more like Waste Of Money...... I run the exhaust brake all the time and it still failed or got plugged or whatever happened. This time it's under warranty, what happens next time? I get...

I watched the turbo speed while on my way back home from Montana with the AlfaOBD. I saw 113k when pulling a hill in NV, when the actuator was working properly. When I monitored the speed, it seemed normal. 30k to 50k cruising on flat ground.

Well, the last update was, they got the speed sensor issue cleared. Not sure which speed sensor, or how it was cleared ( talking to the service rep, might as well be talking to my dog, he knows more about my truck). The tech drove the truck and what do you know, the same MF'n codes came back...

    NOT loving my 6.7

On Monday I set out to remove my reman actuator. My neighbor across the street saw me and came over and told me to take it to the Dodge dealer he worked at for 30 years. He talked to the diesel tech there and one of the service writers, and they told me to bring it in. The tech said most of...

I bought the actuator from HD turbo online. It was a reman. I called them today and they said they would replace it, it has a one year warranty. So, I am going to start with that. Replace it myself and see what happens.

are you saying the 5.9 is more reliable? or, it likes to be in the wild?

Not all of the changes have been bad. Mostly just the cost increase of the parts and all the emissions crap. Don't get me wrong, when my truck works, it's a freakin beast. It tows my jeep up the hill like it's not even there. And the MPG at 77mph going through NV and ID was 22mpg. My '01...

    NOT loving my 6.7

I can't see dumping thousands of dollars into parts ( DEF and DPF crap) for a truck I don't really need. Guess that makes me a flawed fool The company I work for now has Ford 550's, Freightliners with Cummins, Peterbilts with Cummins, and international's with the MAXX force engine. They're...

    NOT loving my 6.7

I'm going to go test drive a 2019 2500 with a 6.4 HEMI tomorrow. I loved my '01 CTD for the engine and transmission, 5spd. Never had an issue with either. I love my '16 2500 mega cab for the truck, so far. Not sure I want to deal with all the emissions crap that will need replacing, or...
