'01.5-'04.5 Trailer Plug Difference

I thought I read on here that the plugs were different from the 2ne gens to the 3rd gens. But the little schematic on the flip up covers are the same. Was I halucinating? I bought a '04. 5 3500 and want to be sure that when it's time to go camping, I'm ready.

Mine seems to be the same as my 01, although I haven't checked the electric brakes yet. I connected my flatbed plug using a 7 to 6 adapter and all the lights worked.

Yep, they are exactly the same. Only difference is where they are located. 2nd gens are on the hitch, 3rd gens they are in the licence-plate area in the bumper.



Wires and brakes are same-o same-o.

Thanks guys. I don't know why I thought they would be different. I could of sworn I read it on here somewhere. But I'm relieved that I don't have to attempt re-wiring anything!
