01 Needs ac evaporator replaced, would OEM be best. local parts house has

after market. I can get a four seasons Evaporator $100,OEM would

be $250 For all I know the two may be made by the same co.

Can I remove the dash with out removing the steering coloum. Or ma be just droping the coloum on the seat.

What about the air bags. what do I have to look out for.

Looked at the heater core Aluminum I am trying to find a brass heater core

no luck at the parts house. Is the factory heator core brass.

Never had a Dodge dash out, Had Ford & GM dashes out a couple of times

But no Dodge.

Thank you in advance

Larry, there's lots of info here on changing the evaporator on these trucks, just do a search of the forums. You won't have to pull the steering col, I believe you juast disconnect it from the dash. The air bags are electrically activated so you need to disconnect the batteries before you start, there is a capacitor which holds enough juice momentarily to activate the bags so wait a few minutes after you disconnect the batteries before you get serious with the removal, actually you just have to disconnect the dash (completely at the lower edge) and roll it upward. As you alrerady know, Chrysler does not make the AC parts so I would be perfectly happy with the Four Seasons. Don't know if you can still get brass heater core???? bg
