'03/'04 dually 235-80-17R tires

I'm not surprised, GY tires have served me very poorly. Had one set that had almost no traction, after two sets I gave up. My last set of mud tires were chunking and could not be balanced, my right front lasted 600 miles before I demanded a buy back.



My trailer tires had problems too. My 265's wouldn't make it to 25K. My present BFG TA's are much better after 30K, no problems, lots of tread left and they provide good traction. I noticed the last few GY problem tires (pu truck) were from Mexico.



I lean towards Michelin/BFG now, unless they don't have the size.

Tires

Had two tires with seperated side walls. 71000 miles went to good year store La crosse Wi. Got 50% ajustment 6 new tires for 570. 00 . Not a bad deal in my book.

Were those problem tires the SRA's or RSA's? I remember some one having that problem with the SRA's.

I was with Firestone back in 1980/1983 out of Akron. Was told MANY times that the tire stuff for them and Goodyear was PLAY money that the thought of canning the auto tire end came up yearly. They were into steel/wheels/plastics and tons of other stuff THEY claimed made them real money with 1/2 the hassle. Just what I was told every time they wanted more from us and gave less from themselves.
