Okay guys and gals. We've hashed this stuff over and over again. If you modify your rig, you take the chance of voiding your warrenty. Let's keep this thread on track. We're interested in info regarding the claims of these injectors. Will they pony up the ponies, and will these ponies pass more fuel stops?

Thanks

Vaughn when you go over there remember to wear the Great ~ (mustache). There seems to be some mystical powers ascribed thereto.

Why I'll bet its got something to do with a mystical "vortex" or perhaps a venturi effect! I know, I know! There's a magnet attached to the outside of the injector!:D just joshing. Please, keep us fabled fabulously fantastic 555ers updated too.

Yes, it is the DPU injector and Josh at Dishman Dodge (a NW Bomber who originally told me about the injector at BD Dyno Days) wants to install the injectors at Dishman. They do it outside the normal process that registers the VIN. DPU will assist. For you 305 guys the injector is awesome. I got 10mpg coming back from MT to WA in a headwind with the 600 and a BigFoot camper. Adding 4mpg to that would be just incredible. Especially at today's prices. My top attraction. HP second. The most important thing is we shot over 2600 gophers in MT. :D George

so when are they going to be availabel to the public?

How Much?

And who is going to distribute them ?

sorry if these questionjs have been answered but i musta missed out on them during the time this thread has been going on

And yet ANOTHER 555 here.

Come on... Make with some REAL info.

Price?

Location?

Timeframe?

Web Links?

Any more info would be helpful. :D

OK, I know that this is probably a stupid question to most of you but, who is DPU? I searched google and came up with nothing. Please point me to the obvious answer since I am a complete moron today.

My mileage is Awesome. Hand caled @ 22. 1mpg last fill up . I get over 700 miles per tank. I want the power. problem is the sucky turbo on the 04 will give up the ghost earlier if i put the injectors in

:) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Mercam,

Did you make your own sub box? How big of 10" JL fit in the box? Looks good and you kept the fold flat storage. I'd be interested in one of those if you could help?:)

I used a JL 10w0-4. used 3/8" wood( same stuff you would use to build a counter top with. Boxed in the sides found some carpet that was close to matching fibeglassed the bottom. you could probably use dyna mat but i wanted it to be water tight since you never know where 4wd is going to lead youPM me if you need any more info than that

Visited DIESEL PERFORMANCE UNLIMITED

Well I drove by DPU after work today and paid a visit to their shop on Road 68. I met Chad and had a nice chat and he was willing to answer all my questions and show me around the shop. They've got some cool stuff, including a very nice HEADER kit for both the 2nd and 3rd Gen 24-valve trucks that they finished developing and began selling recently!

From as much as I could get out of him they pretty much do their own injectors, at least I was satisfied they are not Dr. Performance. They have been working over a year developing injectors and trying different spray patterns and have come up with injectors that seem to work quite well (although I have no firsthand experience with them). They build their own injectors except for the extrude hone process of the tips which they send back east to be done. After buying new tips, having them sent out to be EH'd they assemble here and test them for flow and popoff pressure. They had scores of injectors lined up there in various stages of manufacture, mainly 2nd and 3rd Gen Cummins, a bunch of Powerstroke injectors and a few DMax sets. They have quite a few sets covering 65 to 250 hp gains.

Back to the header kit. . . their header is what you would call a "shorty" set, the primaries are about 6" long, go into 2 collectors which feed into the turbo mount flange. The header flanges appear to be 3/8” stock and the tubes I would guess are 12 gauge material. The unit looked good, not as good as mass-produced but handcrafted by an experienced fabricator. About the same or better than the MBRP piece I posted about but with much shorter runners. They are not perfectly equal length but there is less than 2” difference between the longest and shortest runner.

On the 3rd Gen header the turbo is relocated more centrally on the cylinders and the kit includes a downpipe to match and they also do downpipes for aftermarket turbos such as the B1 (which they sell). He said the header kit was in the $700 range.

Unfortunately DPU doesn’t have a website and they are not a large operation, primarily cater to diesel enthusiasts in this area. They used to be one of Dr. P’s vendors but they broke relations with him 2-3 years ago. They sell EZ and I think BD products.

Anyway I enjoyed my visit and think they’re a decent vendor. They are building a rail right now, that looks sweet :D
