plastic inercoolers rock NOT, desided I was going to make a pass under full power and the end resault was a junk plastic inercooler. the inlet side of inercooler is now in two parts.

Banks makes a nice replacement kit for the intercooler.

We have just released our 03-05 Dodge intercooler. It is 57% more surface area than a stock intercooler. We are using extruded tubing in the intercooler making it the most efficent on the market.

This is worse than the VP44 , 2nd gen lift pump, and the KDP. This my dear friends, I do not understand. I know folks that won't buy because of this issue. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Dodge isn't the only one. Ford has been doing it for a while also. It took me 1/2 hr to loosen a couple bolts and replace mine. Heck, it probably takes me longer to change my oil.

They switched back. My 05 is all metal.

grant no I will not use the facroty inercooler. not to sure witch one I will use.

If you stand a chance of warranty, I think they replace it with the metal one.

I believe they will replace the original plastic one with a factory metal one under warranty..... not the same as an aftermarket one, but free.

No data in your sig so i cant tell what mods you have..... but I'd have to have quite a list to be spending big $'s on an intercooler... . at a min, i'd have my transmission and a good box... . then I could justify it to myself!

The intercooler on my buddies 06 Duramax is plastic on one side, aluminium on the other.

Get dodge to replace it under warranty then sell your new metal replacement to me.
