'06/'07 problem's and option's?

I'm trying to sell my '01, so I can purchase an '06 or early '07 in the spring. Is there anything I should be aware of with these year's. Also, I'd like to get leather interior, but I've heard it was only offered in gray. I like the black leather they offered in the '04's but might be out of luck there. Thank's for any suggestion's.

After having at least one of each generation of these trucks, I can tell you that the '01 that I had was my absolute favorite. It wasn't the most reliable of them, but my favorite.



The 3rd gens we have have been as close to perfect that you could want to have (knocking on wood as I type this :-laf). Other than ball joints and axle universals on the '04. 5, they have been perfect. I personally prefer the interior of the earlier 3rd gens over the later ones. The seats in my '07 feel like your riding on a park bench and the dash looks like it came out of a Caravan. But other than that, no complaints.

Knowing what I have learned here, I would get an '05 because they still have standard electrical systems in them as opposed the CAN-BUS, no relay system mine has.
BUT... I still think that it is a better truck than my '01. 5
I wouldn't trade it for a NEW '09

i have had mine for awhile now, the blend door replace twice under warrenty, hubs went out a bit back had them replaced- wish i had the money for the free spin kit, other than that it has been great. some people have had a/c blowing/ coldness issues-yea the passanger vent does not blow as much as the others and it is trying to cool the area of the sears tower so it takes awhile, but after it cools down i still have to turn it down because it gets cold. there is a screen down in the plueulm that helps divert air to the rear ven thave been told front vent blowing will improve if screen is removed, next time one of the doors break i will do it. no problems with the lift pump in the tank yet, had the high idle enabled. no gauges yet. new tires 285 nittos good so far. no complaints here just some of the stuff people have had has happened here but some other things not.

I really like my early 07. If U plan on adding really big power they say find a 03-06cause the 07's have the higher rpm defuel issue. Mine has just had the front drive shaft replaced, and both pinion seals, thru warrenty. No other problems. 92,000km
