All, tried out 2. 05b on my stock turbo... . I was gentle... . boost was controllabe on the street, on the freewy it was hard to not exceed 35+psi... . appears to boost faster, blow more smoke and fuel a little more agressively...

I don't want to abuse my stock turbo (as much as i like the 2. 05b version's performance), so i reverted back to 2. 05a.

My question is: For an 06, what if any part can i use to limit max boost... e. g. adjustable boost elbow? so that I can run the 2. 05b version of the software, but limit boost to a safer 35psi (or where ever my comfort zone is???)

Any thoughts appreciated.

I would be more worried  about your trans just got my smarty and have allready made my tqconverter shutter :--) sure is fun thou Oo. Randy

Setting 3 I have KAX injectors they add a lot by them selves lots of fuel by turning it down to level1 everything is good unless I lean on it real hard like firewall hard towing my trailer 10000lb feels real nice saving for a nice trans then I can realy play Randy

I'm pretty easy on level 3, no injectors or other perf boxes..... havent had an issue, nor really made the transmission slip..... just taking it easy until i can put some $'s into the transmission and dont want to have to replace the turbo before transmission.....

I believe a "normally" driven truck on level 3 is fine for not destroying things... . up the level or use the more agressive tq mgmt softwares or drive it like you stole it and i'm sure you could esily get into expensive trouble.

Boost elbow:

Here ya go, this is from an early tst kit. Run the pressure from the intake manifold with tubing to elbow then the wastegate - adjust the screw on the elbow to desired pressure and cap off the stock hose with a bolt. I set mine at 40psi and it runs great w smarty #9, even does a good job of clearing the smoke  . I imagine that you could still get this from tst, or make your own with an elbow, compression fittings and tube. Hope this helps, Nick.

I have the TST on mine as well and did the wastegate mod like they suggest. I do not have the adjustable boost elbow but the wastegate opens stock like it normally does at 32 psi. Just an fyi, and this is on a 05. I can still spike 34 on stock settings of TST.
