Cummins Announces B20 Approval

Before the snow here, New Jersey avg. was $1. 70's which is where the deals are (was $1. 20's last month). In NYC, you'll pay anywhere from 1. 80 to - get this - $2. 20 at one full serve Sunoco for premium diesel. That same station has Ultra 94 gas @ $2. 31 for full serve.

The kicker is that the place is usually busy!

Compared to the price of real estate in NY/NJ that has to seem cheap. Worked with a guy that lived in Long Island. The house he lived in cost him $250K. The same house in Atlanta Ga. would of cost $100K  Based on that you guys in NY should be paying $5. 00 per gallon for diesel ;) :-laf Hey if your from California don't laugh, you should be paying around $5. 00 too :D

Evian water, 9 oz for $1. 49 -- $21. 19 per gallon. $21. 19 FOR WATER!

... . and the buyers don't even know the source.

A little off the subject but funny none the less.

In Denver we have Deep Rock, and Hinkly Schmitt water. Deep Rock is taken from the ground and bottled in 5 points (our version of the projects) considered to be the drug infested nasty part of town. Hinkly Schmitt is bottled next to the fuel farm and an oil company next to the rail yards. Quite a few of the yuppie folk that found this out turned a nice shade of green when I informed them of their precious water.

How long ago was that? $250K in a decent neighborhood won't buy you an attached apartment style townhouse nowadays anywhere in NYC or in a 'burb nearby. The house I call home right now cost twice that- don't ask how I'm doing it! We used to hide behind low taxes in NYC, but that's over now!

That was about 10 years ago.

I just filled up this evening for $54. The attendent was more shocked than I was at the price of a fill-up. The $54 worth of fuel keep the truck going for two weeks (over 500 miles), including about 120 miles of towing the 5er on a camping trip, about 80 miles on unimproved dirt roads in 4WD out sight-seeing in southern AZ, and driving back and forth to work and trips around town. Averaged 15. 4 MPG.

Fuel was $1. 51 on a Tuesday,I did not stop because I had about a 1/4 tank. Friday night when I got off work driving by the fuel price had shot up to $1. 71. This is nuts. I stopped and put $40. 00 in the tank at another station the next morning:rolleyes:

It has been holding at $1. 689 here in Salt Lake since last weekend. The only good thing is that diesel is . 01 less than mid grade gas now. It used to be higher than mid grade but less than premium gas.

Fuel barge explosion in NYC

For all those who saw the fuel barge fire at Port Mobil on National news, I did experience it since it happened about 2 miles from my place of work. Yes, the buildings shook.

I know it was Gasoline, but I think it will effect us dieselers too, at least around here.

I just drove by the Plainville Truck Stop on Route 1 in Plainville, MA.

I just about wrecked the car.

$2. 019 per gallon.

I just don't understand. I was watching the local news and they said that it is not price gouging if the public is willing to pay that price. It's like the public has a choice? How are we supposed to go to and from with out fuel. When this happened a few years ago I thing AAA filed a suit against the oil companies for price gouging.

What are we to do.

Found a Bargain

Found a bargain--SARCASM--$1. 83 at a Hess on RT1 in Warwick, RI. Fifty Seven bucks for a normal fillup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's better than the $1. 91 at the Mutual in Cumberland that I normally go to.

$1. 75 for #2 at Arco in San Clemente, and regular unleaded is $1. 97. When I bought my truck at the end of summer it was $1. 32 at the same station

My truck is parked until this unnecessary gouging quits. Its 1. 89 to 2. 00/gallon down here. I'm driving a Bonneville at 26mpg average and 31mpg straight hwy. The fifth wheel can stay parked. Sure not using any tires up. Drive it once per week.

Brake Cleaning fluid works as a stain remover, smell remover

after all it is dry cleaning fluid. Just don't use it in the house

or you'll really have problems. I have used it for years with

some good results. If there good wear clothes you may want

to try a test patch first

Also turn up the hot water heater before washing your oily

clothes. Good Luck
