Cummins Announces B20 Approval

Filled up 12-03-04 cost $2. 03 gallon. (diesel)

Next day I saw $ 1. 89. (diesel )

Gas at $ 1. 80

Hope it keeps going down!

Yeah, well here in good ole NY they charge aroung $2. 25 and even if you buy it on the indian reservation; no taxes it's still $2. 07. Cost me nearly $70. 00 to fil up yesterday. And now we are on the winter blend and my mileage has gone to sh$t. The only saving grace is that the truck is paid for

Where I live diesel is 125% of the price of unleaded gas. Bottomline if you get 16-18 mpg on your CTD, it costs the same as driving a gasoline engine truck that gets around 12-14 mpg. This price gouging eliminates one of the biggest benefits of driving a diesel truck. JMHO

hopefully the fuel prices are coming down as im seeing the posts from west of me, here the cheapest i have found and it has come down from 2. 14 is 1. 94 a gallon, i wished it was 1. 75 or as some have posted 1. 55, I think it will come down some but i think its all a ripple affect going from west to east, hope that ripple gets here soon.

I just don't get the pricing model the oil companies use with diesel. During a normal year I will see diesel priced several cents below regular unleaded gasoline and then like now it is priced 10 cents above Premium unleaded gasoline. Since diesel is a less refined product I think it is just plain price gouging, which they don't do as much of with gasoline since most of the gasoline pricing affects consumers and they have more clot with the congress.

diesel price

I believe diesel gets more expensive this time of year because many consumers use it to heat their homes so demand goes up plus the expense of winterizing it to prevent gelling.

It will be heading north again,with the bombing in Saudi Arabia on the american councelet they are saying prices will rise because of fear of an attach :{

Why has diesel been so high priced lately? I hate to turn this into a political statement, but it's becasue we're at war. I recall hearing a month or so ago about the attacks on American supply convoys overseas... the soldiers were going on strike because they were sick of waiting for their time to die... it was reported that among other items, they were moving 1 million (1,000,000,000) gallons of diesel fuel EVERY DAY over there. Let's think, what do all the military vehicles run on? Diesel. What does America run on? Diesel, well, if we want our store shelves stocked, we rely on diesel. We have conflicting interests here, we complain about how high fuel prices are, but we also complain that we have terrorists attacking us. Something's wrong here.

Okay, I'll relinquish my soapbox now... :-{}

Back to topic of this thread, I paid $2. 19 at home this past weekend, but here in NY, it's still $2. 35-$2. 39. I actually broke into the hundreds for the first time filling up Sunday night, at $2. 19/gal. , $114. 25 for 52 gallons, ugh :{

The poor Cummins seems to sit in the driveway alot these days. My wifes Jetta TDI gets to do all the daily chores. Now if I can just pull that 10k lb TT with the Jetta.....

Don't hold your breath waiting for fuel prices to return to "the good 'ol days". It ain't gonna happen. With China and India coming of age, so to speak, the price of fuel will continue upwards. Punching another hole in the artic isn't going to cure anything either. That's a bandaid fix at best... like a quick shot of drugs. . feels good but doesn't last long.

Keep that Cummins tuned up and running lean. If you really need a full sized pick-up. . it's probably the best out there. I'm running bio-diesel every chance I can also... I don't care what it costs. Rather see my money stay here at home and out of the hands of the big oil companys... ours and theirs. Those guys have been yanking our chains for "way" too long.
