I I knew then what I know now, I would have purchased a used CTD Dodge as my first truck back in 1999 instead of the brand new Dakota.

If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have raced that Duramax all the way to the top of the Eisenhower tunnel!!!! I out ran him but not the RADAR!

What I know now and didn't then, I was thinking about the 24 valve engine up grade, then noticed problems starting to develop, was then concidering the 3rd gen trucks, again noticed problems starting to develop. I still have my 95 12 valve and am lovin it. While on a camping excusion last year, I was parked next to one of the Edge product employs, he told my wife, "nice truck, don't get rid of it, its a keeper".

I should have gotten "bit" by Diesel sooner, bought an '03 QCSB 1500 4. 7L 5 spd in that nice dark green, salesman asked me if I wanted the 5. 9L said what do I need that for!

I would have gotten a 4X4 instead of 2WD, they just look neat.

Stuff I wish I kept:

1952 M38 Willys Military Jeep, flathead, 24V, full canvas, blackout lights etc.

1968 Olds Delmont 88 CONVERTIBLE! Red, white interior, black top, my first car.

1965 (?) Ford E-100 Pick up, no not a typo, its an E. Forward control, soild front axle, 3 on the tree, doghouse, toolbox paint.

Itching for an M37 Dodge Military Power Wagon. Maybe two of them, convert one to CTD.

I would have bitten the bullet and bought the diesel in '96 after blowing out the front and rear axles in my 94 1/2 ton (don't ask!) I would also have looked over the truck I have now even more when I bought it---buyer beware.

I would have gotten a LIFE membership (hint, hint, hint) to TDR a year BEFORE I got my truck.

I would have learned how to post pictures (still need to learn do that).

I would have gone to the ANNUAL TDR MEMBERSHIP MEETING(s) (hint, hint, hint) regardless of where they were (rotate them around the country every 5 years (northeast, southeast, central, southwest, northwest)).

I would have appreciated how really fast the TDR web site loads, and the incrediable up time it has (must be 99. 999999999999999999%). I can even get it on my cell phone when on the road.

I would have made vacation trips to meet some of the members just because they have become such GOOD friends and totally sight unseen for years and years and will probably never actually meet them face to face.

I would have put TDR as a reference on job applications and loan applications

I would do a lot of things differently in my personal and financial realms, but I can't say I'd change a thing as far as is related to loving and owning my CTD's. I found TDR before I ever bought my first one, and 5 trucks later, I've had a lot of fun, met a lot of great people, and saved a lot of money by learning from the mistakes of those with deeper pockets

wouldnt have listened to the guy at the local transmission shop when he said "yea i can make it hold anything you give it"

Its funny if you look back on life and think of things you would have done different only to realize that if I had changed the road I chosen all of the other good things in life probably wouldn't have happened. The #1 thing I would have liked to have done is bought ctd sooner (i. e. not last after the chevy and ford diesels. ), however I am sure I wouldn't have learned the all important lessons that I learned from those Trucks.

Hindsight might be 20/20 but I would 20/20 foresight.

Thanks for the chance to win a little fuel.
