I'm from Great Falls, MT. In 1992 I bought a no rust, pristine paint, mag wheeled, everything worked, fully loaded, 4X4, extended cab, XLT Lariat 1986 Ford diesel with a 6. 9l and an automatic. On the flat that truck couldn't even get out of it's own way much less pull a grade of any sort. And smoke... the words "freight train" don't even begin to describe the show I could put on. I wouldn't even consider a diesel after that debacle. Then in 2004 I did a brake job for a friend on a 1997 ctd. When I got that 12v turbo under my right foot for the test drive, it was perma-grin, baby! Infact, I own that truck now.

Well, there's a performance shop called Auto World that's been doing business there for years. If I knew then what I know now I would've jumped at the ctd conversion they were offering. One of the big regrets of my motoring life. To think of all the time and money I've spent on gassers... The bad fuel mileage, all the hot rod parts, and it couldn't even hold a candle to a stock '97. Perish the thought!

I seem to recall around 2001 was when the first rumours started flying about dropping the Cummins Engine for a Mercedes diesel. Fortunatley, the exclusive supply agreement was extended with DaimlerChrysler in October of '03. I should have bought CUMMINS INC (CMI) back then! $$$

I would have bought my cummins sooner but an extended/crew cab for the grand kids. 245,000 miles and running strong.

... I would fiqure out how to convert my 2007 2500 Quad to a bio diesel and save money on fuel. $4. 09 a gallon in new york state. Do you smell french fries?

If I knew then what I know now, I would have...

Sorry, I can't say it. Decorum and civility suggest I make like a bi-valve and clam up.

..... I would not have bought 4 sets of injectors, two turbos, 4 lift pumps, and had the transmission done twice.

I should have bought the biggest baddest of everything right from the start.

Invested in Microsoft heavily in the late '80's.

Purchased a bunch of 4BT's while diesel was still $0. 899 a gallon.

I would have bought a diesel years ago! Instead of wasting my time with 1/2 ton trucks and gas engines. :--) But back then I really couldn't afford to buy a newer 3/4 ton truck with a diesel engine. So I worked with what I had.

I woud have bought a megecab... ... ... ..... -------------------------------- 2005 2500 quad cab. 4x4 3. 73. 35" BFG . flame red . bully dog triple dog. srt hood . boss plow.

i would have done a valvebody,a torque converter and some other trannie "guts" when my 48re hadnt broke in all my o-rings,gaskets and seats;(break the stock rubber in @ higher p. s. i. )it would have saved me a couple thousand anyway!i mean i love the DTT but if i knew now.....

If I knew then what I knew now... . I would of bought my first diesel a looong time ago instead of just 3 years ago. Now on the second Dodge and loving every blissful shake and rattle.
