Competition 12.5sec 24v on #2

BD Powers' 02 4x4 ran 12. 5 on just good old #2. The slicks helped a bit, maybe a bit too much. Had a great run until the 2-3 shift, when the rear end decided it didn't like all the torque. Even with a hurt rearend we ran 12. 51@111. 6mph. This means that will some NOS this is an mid to high 11second truck. Not bad for 6950 lbs. A little more tuning and playing around with the slicks and we are going to definitely need a cage. Christian the usual pilot was busy getting ready for his wedding so the head tech Jason drew driving duties. What a difference getting back to sea level makes. Last week in Denver truck runs 12. 88 on NOS here 12. 5 no NOS. Had a great time, cant wait until next week.

The truck still have 4. 10s? What size slicks are you using?



What was the 60ft and 1/8th if you have it?



I take it since ya trashed the rearend only made one run?

Yes we are still running the 4. 10s. We have 33x17. 5x16 slicks. The 60fts were not very good. 1. 97 and I dont have the 1/8 mile in front of me right now. It was ok. It seemed to come out of the hole pretty soft, so we think the rear might have already been hurt. Guess it is time for an ARB in the rear.

I was in line behind the BD truck a couple of times at Bandimere. That thing puffs white smoke even just idling (altitude?). That was the wierdest smelling diesel I've ever been around - must've been the nitrous?



It was a treat watching you guys run. Sorry about the shutdown on your elimination run. That's no way to go out.

Im glad to sea 4. 10 truck in the mid 12's. I want to get there without changing my gears. Kant drive,waht injectors are you using,are they off the shelve drug pushers,or custom super duper shower nozzles that are not for sale?Is there a stock VP44 on that truck too. thanks JD

The injectors we are running are a custom built for us from an un-named source. These things are crazy. We did as much hp on the dyno with just the injectors as we did with our old injectors and the comp box. These injectors are not streetable. Yes the VP44 is still stock. We have tried some different stuff with a pump but the one on it right now is stock. I am pretty sure with the 60fts we ran on Friday the rearend was already hurt. The Hoosier slicks work great. We are at the crossroads now with this truck. Any quicker and we need a cage and harnesses. This quest for speed seems to be getting out of control. I remember less than a year ago when 13s were the big number and so was the 500hp mark. Where is it going to end????

It seems that the side gears and the spiders gave up on us. We are contemplating whether to use a Detroit or an ARB (leaning the to the ARB).

get it over with and go to a spool :-laf , with that big a slick i doubt anything will last .



where can i get some specs on this truck ? i've been off the site for a bit ??

if christian would run on street tires he would go faster. they only pulled a 1. 97 60'. in 4wd most guys are seeing low 1. 80's. but in order to do 4wd they will have to change gears. my arb's are holding up great. arb told me the axle shaft's will break before the locker will.

Upon further inspection we had to order a pair of axles. The splines were turned a bit. I guess when the rear locked for a second. Oh well the ARB will be here on Friday. Next time at the track we are going to run the street tires and 4wheel drive to do some comparisons. We have pretty much put the NOS away for now, because a cage is still a little bit away. Who knows maybe a little NOS for the last pass of the night, just to get that 11 sec time slip
