Competition Duals on a Single Wheel box...like the mods do?

Thinking about making the jump to larger lines (. 093) on my freshly built 12valve. Just wondering who all runs the larger lines and what kind of advantages/disadvantages might I see. My pump just got 13p&b's, truck pull cam grind, ballanced and all the other goodies. Engine has been built by Haisleys and running there large custom injectores :--) it also has a bunch of other nice goodies in there! Been dealing with Haisleys about this and might actually jump to stainless lines for $10 more a piece... pretty good price!

What do you all think?

Here are a few pics of the long block

What differences do the larger fuel lines make? More power, rpm, smoke? At what point do you need the bigger ones? Sorry, I have been thinking about the bigger lines myself.

I am currently running a set of . 120 stainless lines on my DD and they are probably a little too radical with the other mods (5x. 018 injectors/ cut DV's/ 4500GSK/ gutted AFC/ custom plate/ 28 deg. ) for most peoples taste. IMHO if you plan on streeting it much, go with the . 093 lines. They'll get you thefuel delivery you desire without being so lopey.

Dang Chris, I don't even run my truck that turned up on the street!

Nice motor pics, same pistons I run.

Here is what I have found with bigger injector lines: Stock lines were good to 850 on #2 only, . 093's don't seem to make any more power on the dyno but as told by a very big HP vendor that would know, that I wasn't running enough DV for an . 093 line (181's or . 022's) and that I needed to run a set of cut DV's with the . 093's. Bigger lines are a pain to drive on the road like cross country as they cause governor spring bounce above 2K... ... or did on my truck. When I was talking to the above vendor he told me to try cut DV's before buying a set of . 084 lines. I do think Chris is right about the . 120 lines, there a bit big and a . 093 or . 084 would be better suited but keep your stockers. I have both sets built with holders so the change is in gangs and not separate lines.

In time I should have back to back dyno runs to prove all of these points but I do not have a time line for this event to happen... ... hopefully soon.

well, this was the kind of information I was looking for! Yeah, I am planning on getting the new lines with holders and am also planning on keeping my stock lines just incase I need to swap back and forth. My DV's are 191's so we will see how that turns out on the. 093 lines. It was asked above but not answered... does anyone know the size of the stock lines?

Jim, would the Governor Bounce be what people associate with "Lope", or even "Cam Lope" as some would call it... (people don't know better)

191's are fine for stocker lines but now big enough for . 093's

Stock lines are . 072 I think.

Nope, it more like light turbulence in the airplane and can get bad enough to very the RPM's a few hundred. Also it's worse at higher altitudes. While going to M/M 04' I actually pulled over in New Mexico and changed lines because it had gotten so bad.

Jim- With my pump mods and my 5-18 Haisley injectors do you still think the 191's are going to be too small for those lines? that is still quite a bit of fuel going thru???

I have custom DVs w/ a "calibrated" pump & same injectors with stock lines. Why don't you ask them or their pump people? I think they're pretty honest and wouldn't steer you wrong.

Actually I talked to Van about this already last week and he said that the . 093's will work perfect for my mods that I have. He said that with the fuel I they should work great but I just wanted to check here what others had to say. He did say that a 24valve doesn't want to see anything larger than stock or it will fall flat on its face where the 12valves are alot better.

Thanks... Ryan
