After looseing our Durango to a Accident in Sept we bought a jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel .used it today to tow a Dakota back from Las Vegas Nv. All I can say is WOW that thing is a Beast pulling at 70 in NV empty was a Breeze loaded coming back we were getting 18 on the Lie O Meter . but the whole time we have had this thing the lie o meter hs been Spot on . Love the way it pull's and handled today .

We bought a Jeep GC Larado with the V6 gas engine in May 2011 and have driven it 62,030 miles and used 3092.855 gallons of gas which gives 20.05 mpg.

It is a great comfortable ride I would recommend it!

If you need to tow the diesel or hemi might be better but ours has the 6 speed auto and does fine although the new ones have the 8 speed and are suppose to do even better.

The A630 V6 VM diesel does use glow plugs. They are ceramic but much "tougher" than the one's that where in the libby. Those were known to break off and rattle around in the cylinder causing... well you can imagine. I replaced ours with steel so they won't break. The old one's looked good at about 140K. The Libby VM seems to be hit or miss. Some folks have lots of problems, some don't. I'venoticed a pattern in that most folks with problems ran the stock (as in emissions intact) +/- the use of the too thin 0W-40 oil. If the egr was defeated and the engine was well maintained, they seem to do better. I think the biggest problem was poor execution of the engine in the Jeep product. Chrysler is putting a lot more effort into the V6 engine this go around and hopefully it will do better.

Yeah I know. That is pretty good. Even though it gets less mileage than my Passat I am considering getting one since there is more space for groceries and the dog I am leaning more that way. I really don't like having to duck my head when getting into the VW and throwing my back out of place.

I agree. Cars are getting lower and lower. My friend's '14 Jetta TDI is awful to climb into/out of.

The Jetta's aren't that bad to get in and out of . I'm beyond average and yes it's not easy but it does have some Nice leg room .As for the Jeep It does have More and is Easier to get into because it sit's up higher .Mpg is pretty nice towing was 18 the other day and empty is 26 or better . so No Complaint's here.
