Hi all...Ive been gone a while and couldnt find this question anywhere else....does anyone know if there is a problem with the tpm sensors malfuntioning if you go up to a 19.5 on a 2014 3500?

Tire size makes no difference, you need to make sure the sensors are rated for the tire pressure. The do have low pressure and high pressure units.

The WCM has lower and upper pressure thresholds programmed into it based on the door sticker. Most if not all dealers will not change the thresholds to anything other than the door sticker pressures so you may still have a TPMS light on.

The system used on '14 & up 3500 DRW's is TPIS (Tire Pressure Information System).

The OP has not disclosed if his truck is SRW or DRW. Either way......I'd imagine he still only has TPIS as any 2014 3500 GVWR is over 10,001 lbs.

So my truck is a 3500 mega cab long bed drw max tow 4.10 gears and aisin as69rc... I was hoping someone has actually put 19.5s on their truck to see what the outcome is... The dealership says its no problem but frankly i dont trust them. Was also hoping someone had some experience with 19.5s to see if they really affect ride quality. Like the wear characteristics of the heavier tires as i often gross 32000 plus.

I searched a couple years go when I put 19.5 on my 2015 and never could find tpms that would read at the higher pressure. There were times with the stock wheels that the pressures would get over what the stock system would recognize and if I remember correctly it was 94psi, above that it would read 264psi. As for handling they do thejob. The truck is a crew cab long bed 2wd with a utility bed and it's normal weight it right at 10k. Being so long the front axle stays pretty much the same load right at 4600 lbs so the rest is on the rear.when we hook up our 28ft trailer with empty is 4500 and an average wight of 12 the rear axle will see up wards of 7500 lbs hence the need for the 19.5s. We have found that the goodyears star tires work great in the front although in bad weather breaking lacks.in the rear and tire with aggressive tall tread with ha e you chasing your tail like no one's business

Good info ma2la...does the truck ride much different now....what pressures do you run front and back...and lets see some pics if you could!?
