Why? That's a lot of pressure for an empty truck.
I'm basically lazy. I don't have on onboard compressor so it requires a stop at the shop if I were to alter the pressure for every situation. Over the span of a day I may go from empty to a ton and a half on the flat bed to a loaded stock trailer to hauling some Belgians for the neighbors to 10 tons of hay on a tandem dual flat bed trailer to a 1000 gallon bumper pull water tank. I just pick what fits most of those situations. 40 gives a comfortable empty ride (no pressure makes the truck feel too mushy now). More than 40 ends up being a buckboard when empty. 70 levels the truck out when towing the flat bed trailer loaded with hay (I modifed the flat bed trailer from the 70/30 axle location to 60/40). O've tried 90, but it adds nothing.
