Rebuild parts are coming in so I'm back to work on the front axle... . Got the front axle all u-bolted in there... but the u-bolts were too short. Oooops!

New inner seals installed and double checking the lash... thinking back, I don't know why I didn't just put a LSD in it while I had it all apart? I guess I'll just have to do that job over again later... .

New spindles and complet king pin rebuild completed... .

Decided to remove the pre-load spring set up on the king pins... . the new set up uses the set screw to actually pre-load the king pin. Advantage here is that it will keep the front end tighter and with the 38's avoid any front end wobble due to balance or other... .

Mounting the tie rod on the high side, so I had to go with heim joints (rod ends)..... the bolt in the pic was not the one used, that one is way too small!

What all did you get from them?

If anyone is curious WFO Concepts

They set me up with the crossover/hi-steer, drag link, rod ends, tie rod, pitman arm and the king pin pre-load set up... . best to try and call them as they don't seem to respond to e-mails? Probably too busy in the shop... . I need to call them for some brackets to complete my four link/coilover front.

First time I've looked at this link, you do amazing work. Even more amazing is that your doing this in your driveway. You have the patience of a Saint to not rush through this project. Well done...

Thanks!

There have been a few occasions when I felt like quiting! Just got to get r done!

:D

Here is the correct bolt... . I'm using a full shank bolt for greater shear strength and will cut off the extra threads. First drilling out the steering arm.

OK... motor going back in so I can get to work on the trans and t-case mounting... . since I already had the NV4500 from my last project, I will be using a married t-case... Ford driverside drop NP-205.

The 1993 motor had the wrong adapter plate for the NV4500... . the correct plate has all the same bolt paterns, just an additional 1. 000" deeper (thicker). .

#ad

89-93 plate..... @ 1. 250"

And the correct plate @ 2. 250" Also just another bit of information... . the 2003 and up adapter plates won't work only because they changed the mount to the block to a asymmetrical pattern as the plate now seals the back of the cam bore...

Test fitting the NV4500... . need to see what mods that I need to make for trans mount and front drive line clearance.
