The Fleetguard remote head for the filter that we use on our Dodges is p/n HH6981. It had 3/4 npt threads and you should use a #12 (3/4" ) hose. You will have to make your own mounting bracket. There is stock in both the US and Canadian warehouses. This is not the cheapest way to go but if you need the clearance other adapters like the Pacbrake kit won't help.

BTW What year is your engine Mark? Shadarch

Just ordered the correct gasket for the plate... . I'm still trying to get some Amsoil dual bypass filter information as this was one of my original plans. I will look up that fleetgaurd remote head (thanks for that info) incase the Amsoil info is a wash... My motor is a 1996 vintage ;)

:D

You mean like this :

AMSOIL - By-pass Oil Filter Mounting Kits p/n BMK25 Light truck primarily Dodge with Cummins engines EaBP100 and EaO26 BK21, 22 and 23 Relocate full-flow with bypass for 5. 9 and 6. 7 liter Cummins engines. Includes mount, filters, hose and fittings.

For me the stock FLG filter ( LF3894 ) will work fine. I will be using the Amsoil Precharger - a prelube system.

I asked about the year of your engine because in the photos it looked like a 1st gen one, or was that not the one you are using in the truck? Shadrach

Yes I did have a first gen in the truck while I was fabing mounts and such. I sold that motor as I found a 96 short block that was already rebuilt. So the motor in it now is the 96.

Still trying to get a price from Amsoil on just the filter head plate.

:)

OK... have the intake and exhaust bowls ruffed in. Not sure about these pics, but they were the best of the bunch.

Just about all done with the exhaust ports... . I still want to work the bottom of the valve guides a bit.

Comments/suggestions?

Finally got back at it... ... ruffed in the intakes today. It seems that most of the information found on porting the Cummins 12 valve revolves around the exhaust ports... not much information about the intakes?

In between the porting action... I had this adapter/spool piece made to bolt the NV4500 to a NP205 (Ford case w/Dodge gears)... . Then I read the thread about the cast iron tail housings, so I need to check my runout!

And here is the latest on the stand alone clutch peddle assembly..... I will add a third bearing suport to the outside of the shaft.

Oo.

Made a little modification to my remote filter plate..... tap'd out the turbo oil feed to 3/8 NPT. The plan is to feed both turbos through this port.

Today I got the AirDog150 mounted in place... .

Brought in my new fuel tank/tool box from the shed. Ordered up some more fittings and some rubber isolators to mount the tank... .

Here is the fuel door that I will be tying into the tank fill... ...

:D

After getting the head on I noticed that a few of the valve seals were lifted and wasnt sure why.....

This is what they looked like...

#ad

And this appears to be the problem... .

I tried many different approaches to getting these on without causing this kind of damage. The thing that worked the best was some synthetic grease that I had combined with working them on and off a couple times. If I could do this all again, I would clean up the valve guide taper that the seal slides over... the edges must be a little sharp.

:{

Made up a spring compressor to remove the seals in place.....

Then had to modify the tool to get to the back two exhaust valves... .

I love the baby blue paint job on the block and head. It looks like your prepping to paint the entire truck, are you going with orange again? Keep up the great work, I've been following this project for months now...

Patrick

It is kinda a redish orange, but I'm thinking of going a charcoal color? Might throw a rat rod primer on it till the paint funds show up... . LOL
