I am starting to transform my d250 into a 4x4. I found a 1988 front axle that I want to purchase I am just having a hard time finding a place for the front leaf springs. There aren't any brackets that fit since it comes stock with a upper and lower control arm. I need to find the mounting brackets from the frame to leaf springs. The only thing I can find online are for the rear. Does anyone know where I might find some or what else can I do to mount the leaf springs? I want to buy a 4 inch lift for it as well just no where to hang my leaf springs. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I did exactly what you are talking about with my 350, for spring hangers all i can say is look in the junkyards, thats what i did. They do not have to be from a diesel any 72 to 93 dodge 4x4 will work as all trucks used the same width springs, the 90 to 93 trucks did use a 5/8" front bolt to mount the springs to the hangers were the older trucks used a 1/2" bolt but you can just drill the hole bigger in the hanger. You will also need to get the engine cross member from a 4x4 truck as well cause the 2wd one is part of the suspension support and needs to be removed for axle clearance. you will also need the upper shock mounts that are also the bump stops. The mounting holes for the front spring hangers are already in the frame but the holes for the rear spring shackles, cross member, and shock mounts will all have to be drilled.

Almost forgot you will also need a 4x4 pitman arm for your steering box, and a 4x4 mounting plate that goes between the steering box and the frame, the steering box its self is the same and can be reused.

Ok. 10-4. I'll have to start searching under every junkyard rock. Appreciate the advice. If all else fails will have to have something made up.

Also 81-93 gas is the same stuff you need .engine cradle and spring hanger's .simple to remove the 2 wheel drive stuff and Bolt in the 4x4 stuff with Grade 8 bolt's .Been there done that a few times .Get's Pretty easy when you have done it a few times .I'll Warn you .Your going to get real cozy with a 1/2 drill bit you have about 20 holes to drill .
