I decided to replace my battery cable assembly, since the cables were worn as well as the battery fasteners being deteriorated. I thought it would be a no frills job, until I noticed that cable had a cable clamp on the engine mount bolt. Ugh!

So, I had to draw that bolt out to free the cable, I was paranoid, but thought the bolt below would hold the alignment in place. I was wrong,,,,, it moved a bit, preventing me from reinserting the bolt. So, the question, does anyone know a good technique to regain that alignment to replace that engine mount bolt? I was thinking about a lift at the oil pan, but I don't want to jack that up. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Use a engine host on the lift ear or put a jack under the oil pan but use a 2x6 to spread the load out on the pan, as long as you use something to distribute the load the oil pan will be fine

Thank you for the advice, I will try lifting with a 2X6, hind site I guess I should not have removed it and just cut the clamp.
