Im back again with the same problem. I sent off the old injection pump to be tested by thoroughbred diesel and the results came back okay. They sent me a completely different pump back after a few emails back and forth. I check to see if it was different and it was. I put it on and the truck still has no throttle. Warm or cold it starts and idles fine but has no throttle response. I am baffled because the truck had throttle up to the point of it puffing white smoke out the throttle sticking wide open on its own and the throttle was intermittent before this incident multiple times.

I might also add that I have a brand new TPS/APPS and I have done the reset procedure 5 times now in hopes to fix it. I also have a new Airdog II 100GPH lift pump at the same time as putting the new injection pump on. There is no check engine light. The scanner shows no history of check engine codes in the computer either. I have already tried adding wire to the throttle wires from the ecm to the vp44 and it did not help. So now i have exposed wires and no throttle. The lift pump is brand new so it has good enough fuel pressure. All the connectors have been cleaned with electronics cleaner and reinstalled. They have been double and triple checked to make sure they were making good connection. Mechanics have looked at it and are baffled because they believed it was the VP44 aswell. The truck has had no prior ecm problems before and has only had VP44 problems because of the stock block mounted lift pump.

I don't know if this will help. I was having trouble with TX lockup. I decided to check the battery terminal connections. Everything looked good but I wasn't happy with what it looked like. I got two sets of military grade battery connectors at amazon.com. I didn't cut the old connectors off the cables but put in longer bolts and a nut as a spacer and bolted the cables to the new
connectors. My TX lockup problems are gone. Problem gone and cost was under $25.00.

I don't see in anything in your previous posts about the crank sensor. I would suggest you check the crank sensor, connector, and the ECM connectors.

I would get a factory service manual. You can get them at www.genosgarage.com , make sure you get one for the 24 valve engine.
Your pcm, fuel filter, cam sensor,( I think you have a crank position sensor also (not crank speed/engine speed sensor like the 12 valve had.)
Has do with not making the vp44 pump rev and it sounds like it mite be the computer on top of the vp44.
Did you have first vp44 worked on or replaced?

Go to www.bluechipdiesel.com he has a link to diagnois vp44 problems

It is a freshly rebuilt pump as thoroughbred claims. And I will check the crank sensor in a bit. It has a new car sensor already so I think that's okay

I hooked up a scanner and read the live data but nothing looks odd to my knowledge and it had no history codes or present check engine codes. I will hook the scanner up again and see what I can find

I hooked a scanner to it and the throttle is at 0% and while slowly pressing the accelerator it begins to rise with no Hesitation in % all the way to 100% and back down to 0% with no stutter

The truck starts like it used to and the tach works fine but to kinda add to this is that the first "new pump" I had would take 20-30 seconds to start the truck no matter what and then this new pump I was sent the truck starts in 2-3 seconds which is great. But yes the tachometer works.

Have you looked at Blue Chip. I just did a fast read, lot of good info on how to diagnose and trouble shoot. Also I call the shop where you got your vp44 pump and see if they put a new computer on the top of the vp44 many of them don't .

Can you read fuel temperature with your scanner? Just curious, that would give a clue if the ecm and pump are communicating.
