I have looked at the blue chip website and have actually been trading emails back and forth with the owner I believe. He seemed confused as to what was going on aswell after I explained everything I have done and checked already.

Im off work today so I will check that today wen I go to the shop. I'm changing the oil in it later today because if I can't figure out what's wrong with it then I will be taking it to baileys diesel and don't want to them telling me my oil is bad and trying to give me the runaround instead of just fixing the problem

To do this most simply just apply voltage at one end of the circuit and use a sealed beam (headlamp) at the other end it should be as bright as it is if you connected it directly to the battery

Okay so my dads pastor has a 2001 6 speed 4x4 dually and he let me borrow his computer. I put it in my truck to test and thentrick fired right up. It stuttered st first and then I gave it throttle and it REVVED UP. The truck honestly sounded a little different when I revved it but then I let off the throttle and the tach died and a check engine light came on. The truck is still running and I keep giving it throttle and then keeps working so I know the tach is not working cause of the year differences. But now here is my problem. $2400+ For a remanufactured one from cummins. I haven't called dodge yet. A salvage yard wants 500-709 and all the other ones say call. I was going to order one from fs1 for $779.99 and all the reviews say that it's the worst company even dont buy. I now know what my problem is and I have no idea where to purchase one from. The cummins dealership stated that they might be able to reprogram it and I am almost certain our local dodge dealership will not have the tool to do it. Any advice as to where to buy a new ecm will be appreciated. In this close to fixing it but now I have no idea where to find an ecm

Watch out where you purchase the ECM from. If you get it from Cummins the Dodge dealer network will NOT be able to program it. If you get it from Dodge/Mopar they will. I got burned by this a couple times when I was still working. You didn't think to ask them where they purchased it until you went to replace it a second time because you couldn't program the one they brought in.
