I just wanted to extend a special thanks to PDR and the crew for putting on one heck of an event today. It was a blazing hot day while Piers put out a spread of food and plenty of hydrating drink.

Lotsa smoke and lotsa fun and great sharing. This is my first 1st gen event and I got to finally meet some of you great folks out there where I finally got to put a face to the postings on the TDR.

I really got to experience a brother hood of 1st gen pride, ... . a religion if you will!

As our pastor Bob, blessed us with the sceptre of the wholy injector! (sorry you had to be there to get this one - maybe one of the boys has a picture of our pastor with the Wholy Sceptre).

Thanks Mark L for free checkup of my engine for air intake/boost leaks and tweaking the injection pump. You got the magic touch and I thinks my truck likes you, cause it sure runs better than when I arrived. I'll be back for more of that magic!

And finally thanks to all those who participated to make this event a most fun experiance. I thought I was going to show for a couple hours in the morning and head off by noon, but ended staying almost all day. Goes to show you, how great you folks really are! Thanks again and hope there's another event like this next year! Have a safe travel, especially for those who came the distance.

If there's one next year I don't care what it takes, I'm goin.

Glad you enjoyed it, I'm sure it was a blast :) I'd like to see some pics, hopefully someone can take care of that for us unfortunate ones that had to stay home.

Hey Honkin, which one were you? I thought I met everyone but now I'm not sure.

Hey Carl, I met and remember you! I was the guy with the Dodge RAM!!!! (just kidding)

I have the 93' Solid Red std cab with white canopy and ran around with the white T-shirt that said "If you can't Dodge it RAM it!" < - did I ring a bell or strike a nerve yet?

I wonder how that fella made out with the blown head gasket! Oops! Forgot his name now... friendly as heck... great attitude especially after a blown head gasket. I felt real bad for him and wished I could have been more help, but I sure he had everything under control and hope makes home OK.

It was sure nice meeting all, until next time... . Smokem' if you got em'!

It was an awesome time/day..... everyone who came had fun.

Last year this started out as an open house, hang over the fender event. We had guys who travelled thru white-out storms to be there...

It was in January, cold, cloudy, damp and still fun...

This year, Piers and Louise stepped up and supported a far more "involved" day ... thanks to my big mouth...

If it hadn't been for Piers and Louise as well as;

Harry, "young Mark", Kate, Morgana and a soon to be brother-inlaw, Jason Burton from NW Custom, Amelia, John, Dave and his "squeeze", my brother Randy and his gal Maggie (who helped with the graphics and award designs) and other's I know I'm overlooking we could never have done this...

THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!

We had a real "howl" at the back-up derby... . never seen so many road cones get mortally wounded in so short a time.....

As noted the two top dogs were Mike (Old Smoky) and Jeremy (Stomp). He really has a great "sleeper" for guys who think they can beat up on a poor old 1st gen... . :D

We had two awards for HP... one was for "Extreme HP" which included "drugs" and, another for "High HP" from a VE pumped "no drugs" class...

Mike won High HP with a run of 482 I believe ... :--) on #2 only and, Jeremy won Extreme HP with a run of 520 HP :--) on #2, water/meth and propane. BTW, no 1st Genner was turned away at the dyno...

Also, Jeremy (Stomp) won one other catagory/award too... . he probably doesn't want to tell y'all about it... . :D but, he won "Junk Yard Dog" catagory. That started out as a catagory that a few guys wanted to have for fun. It was for the "Butt Ugliest Truck" award.....

Well, we didn't think the title was quite right so we did "Junk Yard Dog".

Jeremy won that one too... . all because he didn't get his truck washed up and detailed before coming up... .

I hope he didn't take it as an insult (I don't think he did :D ) ... . let's face it... you

DON'T want to mess with a JYD ever... 'specially when he has High HP on #2 only!

Dave Miller (hdm48) was there as always but this time he had a surprise...

It seems he spent a long time thinkin about doing a little something for the Pastor...

He came up with an idea and went to work... ... when he was done his wife saw it and dubbed it "The Scepter Of The Holy Injector".....

It was a reall hoot !!!! I got to wave this bad boy around all day, and it will be a permanent fixture from now on... thanks Dave !!!

We had one fellow who came to the event on a tow truck. Roadhawg (Eric) came up but he had been playing with some switches and stuff the night before to prepare and, on the way up he discovered water in the oil... . head gasket :(

By the end of the day he was just putting his head bolts back on and installing his rockers. :D:D After a chat with Roadhawg, I am very dissapointed he didn't get to run... I have a feeling he is gonna surprise some folks with his beast... we'll have to keep an eye on him a little closer... know what I mean ;)

Seems he got some assistance from the crowd/staff and a local tow truck driver who gives our guys good deals on 'hooks'... .

Stan Thompson (paccool) won "Longest Drive To Arrive" with a drive of 984 miles to get here... but !!!!! Jeremy came real close with about 20 miles less than Stan... now THAT'S commitment/participation !!!!!!

Marty1 took the "Show 'N Shine".

At the end of the day were a few burnouts that basically fogged in the entire area ... . sssssmokin !!!!!!!

All in all... an awesome time... don't miss it next year guys... . it's growing bigger and better each year. .

Sounds like a good time was had by all!! And Mike's almost broke 500 on fuel with the ve, sounds awesome. Get her tuned Mike!!

When are you gonna schedule next years event? Will it be in exactly 1 year? The sooner I know the more chance I will be there.

Now 'bout this new stick you have pastor, for those of us that were not there can we see a picture? Or is it your secret weapon of suprise?!?:D

Your midwest first gen/PDR supporter,

Michael

It was a GREAT day!! Thanks to all the PDR folks who volunteered their day to make this event happen. Very well organized, and a lot of variety to keep it fun!

Special thanks to Todd (I hope I remembered his name correctly) for providing me the underhood pad my truck was missing FREE OF CHARGE. What a great a group of folks!

I especially enjoyed meeting new folks and putting real names and faces to their forum names.

I took a few digital photos so if you were there, PM me and I'll try to get some to you before week-end. I can try to post some here - Pastor, what are the rules regarding photos?

Thanks to Mark L, I will have a new turbo on order as soon as PDR opens this morning (thanks for pointing out how shredded it was, and how lucky I am to be able to drive it home ). Can't wait for next year!!!
