How much did the head set you back?? Part #?

How expensive are those Cat filters?? I heard they are fairly inexpensive??

Your setup looks good... almost looks like OE.

steved

I would love to have my 2-mic filter right there but that is the exact spot my Apps sits, thanks Dodge.

I had the same issue. I fabricated a couple of brackets out of a piece of angle iron and flat steel, and mounted a perma-cool filter there, anyway. :D

Looks good. Where are you measuring the pressure?

I can't help but wonder what will happen with all these auxiliary filter systems when the temperature goes down to, say 10 degrees. Probably not a problem in California though. If you do see some cold temps please do post up how the 2 mic filter with the stock lift pump performs.

At least on our C12 Cat, the filter restriction gauge is normally ~2". Goes to almost 5-7" when the fuel is cold. Comes down when the fuel warms up.

I use one of those Cat filters between my aux tank and the main tank. I also use Howes year round. More Howes during cold snaps. Good installation and pics. I would like to get rid of the banjo bolts and increase the amount of fuel available to the engine fuel filter. Any kits out for that?

I have the Cat. 1R-0749, 2 mic. , fuel filter serving the auxillary fuel tank on my '03. It's been there for well over a year & has worked well.

The filter head (mount) is a Cummins product.

I believe that the 1R-0749 is the longer version of the other filter that has been mentioned. Mine is about 11" long (filter, that is!!!).

www.glacierdieselpower.com makes good kits. I have their 2 micron kit sitting in my living room begging for an install

The 1R0749 crosses over to a WIX 33674 or NAPA 3674. NAPA is showing the price at $21. 89, don't know how that compares to Cat's pricing.

FF5319 fleetguard crosses to that 0749 cat... i've got 2 of them [±9. 5" tall] sitting at home, along with 2 ff5320's [±7" tall] . . they both were under $20cdn/each from cummins [missassauga, ontario, canada]. they had instock the 19's, but the 20's are were not in stock

Careful with filter number cross references

Be careful about cross reference filter numbers. I am in the process of putting a Stanadyne FM1000 between the stock filter and CP3. The biggest delay finding the right filter. I have discovered that many of the cross reference numbers do not necessarily match the micron size or especially efficiency. I have finally found a Donaldson filter that will work. Now I just have to find someone that can get it for me.
