Anybody know a part number our where I can just get a passenger side steering knuckle for my 2001 2500 4x4 reg. cab long bed. I can’t find anything at all no numbers or prices or where to get it.
I was out on the road when the tie rod popped out of the steering knuckle. From what me and father can tell was when we were doing the calipers we had noticed that tie rod bolt seemed loose and the hole was a little oblonged so we tightened it up more to where it was tight and noting moved or had play in it. We think we may have over did it with tightened it and stripped the threads to where when I hit a pot hole it blew the nut and cotter pin off. Some of the roads I travel 2-3 times a week have good sized pot holes I try to avoided them when possible but have to take some on do to not being able to move over due to the curbs or another vehicles on my sides.
I put a new tie rod in and the tie rod bolt was still a little loose. I was able to torque it down to the 65lbs. that it is called for without any problem of the bolt spinning or etc. Everything is nice and tight no play in the tie rod end bolt and the knuckle after tightening it down.
Do you think I should replace the knuckle? My father thinks it maybe should be replaced but with everything being tight again we aren’t sure.
This has the T steering setup on it. I had switched it to this over a year and a half ago.
Thanks a lot for any help.
