I seem to have a fuel leak coming from the fuel filter canister. I believe it is coming from the assembly on the blow down valve (do not know the real name) used to drain out the water in the fuel filter. Is there a gasket that can be replaced on the filter, or do I need to replace the whole assembly. Thanks in advance for any information on how to fix the fuel leak.

Try working the drain valve lever on it. I know with mine, it can be leaky if it's not in a specific spot when shut off. Once it's off, it stays off, though. So if it just started to leak without you touching it, you may have some other problem with a seal or something. If so, I would think it's repairable without replacing the whole canister.

Look at Geno's Garage. The have the individual parts in the filter assembly. Great service from them, always. I buy the maintenance stuff from them. They are one of the sponsors here.

I bought the replacement valve from Geno's. While waiting for it, I tighten the cap on the oem valve and leak stopped. So the new valve installation can wait for the next filter change. SNOKING

I have been smelling diesel in the garage, so yesterday after changing oil I went after this repeat issue. After removing the water drain valve about 5-6 times, I decided it was leaking at the o-ring at the lower port. It is like the O-ring is to thin. I got the leak stopped with a piece of purple surgical tubing in addition to the o-ring. I have order some o-rings and will report back on if they are the correct solution. SNOKING

I have changed the o-rings on many trucks to fix that leak.I have an o=ring assortment in the garage for those annoying little fixes
