2004 Seat Replacement Time

I've been searching for options in replacing my seat covers and the driver's side bottom cushion. I'm not finding many in the taupe color, and I'm having some places tell me their covers are for Laramie seats only. Does anyone know of a difference between Laramie trucks and the rest? Mine is an SLT with cloth seats, and was hoping to move up to leather, if possible.

Geno's doesn't have the covers for my year and color, so was looking at the 2006 covers and it made me wonder how much different are they? Who has replaced their seat covers? I'm not interested in generic/bad fitting covers.

@Udaloy, Do you have a boat shop within a reasonable drive? You could have them make you a set in whatever you need. I know that might not be what you want to hear, but with the factory covers no longer available, might be best choice. The reason I say boat shop, tend to make things a bit more durable. Just a thought and option. Like the idea of putting in leather. If you go that route, take the time to treat it from the beginning to assure long life and softness! Here's a site to get your own leather from to have made into covers. Have gotten some hides from them, so good to deal with. Good luck with project.

Thanks for the options. I'll have to look into a boat shop. Both the stock interiors and seat shop were busts. I'll keep looking.

I replaced my seat covers on my 2008, Dodge 2500 Mega Cab SLT in 2017. I had a local shop that did custom seats for vehicles with new upholstery. They were able to update my front seats with gray leather seat coverings. I had gray cloth seats that were worn out and there was a little tear in the covering. I also added a motorize LUMBER seat support to the LH seat for my wife. My total cost at the time was $850, $50 for the LUMBER support. I did not need new seat cushions for the truck.

I would check around for car restoration shops and see who they use for new seat coverings. They might tell you or go to car rallies and ask the car owners who did their re-upholstery. Just a suggestion!

Richmond Auto Upholstery 832-421-2176. I think Hansen was the guy. Had leather seat covers made for my daughter's 97 4Runner. They looked better than the originals, got the heavier duty leather for an extra $100. Their customer service was outstanding. You install or if you are not too handy take it to a shop, easy.

For the cushion go with the HD replacement from Geno’s, it’s very comfortable.

Don’t use an 06 cover, the seats are different (and not as comfortable as the 05 seats).

katzkin would get my vote for an upgraded cover.

I went by (google) Dillon Upholstery (in Dillon SC, 120 miles from you) today and got them to look at a worn leather area in my sig truck. They redid my 88 S15 GMC seat about 24 years ago when it was my rural mail route beast of burden and it (seat, not truck!) still looks new. Mr Rippy is 87 and doesn't come in on cold days, but still works. His son and grandson carry on his tradition of excellence. Let me put it this way: If his place was in Charlotte, I would drive there to get it repaired.

X2 on the Richmond covers. The Taupe color is a perfect match and good instructions on the install. Got the seat foam from them too because at the time Genos did not have the 2004 year.
