Brought home my new truck yesterday, and have been driving around seeing how she runs...
Compared to my 98. 5 2500 4X4 Cummins, there is no comparison in Ride Quality, Steering, Brakes, Cabin noise, Engine noise in general...
All of the above are MUCH better on the 2010, though I really wish I could hear more engine and or turbo noise... . (Is there a "Turbo Ring" like on my 98. 5 that I can remove to give it a bit more Turbo Whne>)
Anyway, the single thing I find to be the most troublesome on this 2010 is the turbo LAG.
There is a significant lag with this truck before she generates any real Pull...
To be fair, so did my 98. 5 before I added a Van Aiken box, and a boost module, and FAE airbox, and a Jannety racing 4" Exhaust.
So, Im here to ask, how best to address this issue, add a few ponies, and let the engine breathe again?
I will say, that If I can get a little more pull before the turbo winds up , this will be one darned near perfect setup... .
If I could, I'd remove the EGR, and Particulate filter TOMORROW, but with things the way there are today, I guess I just need to be thankfull that I don't have to deal with DEF!
Though I Hated to let my old truck go... I'm getting spoiled with this new one...
