My dealer said 7 year/100,000 miles, but I just spoke to Chrysler about their max care contract and they said on a diesel you can get an 8 year/120,000 miles contract.

Just have the dealer put it into the system that way and it will show on their computer.

Without a vin # she quoted roughly $3200.

I am waiting on a call back from Trish Steinhard at Riedman Motors for their price as posted above by JLandry.

mine is a 2014 tradesman that i bought new on 10/27/14 and the sales manager was pushing this "EASY CARE" contract real hard. he said it's rated a best buy by "motor trend" for whatever that's worth. he said he's friends with the owner of the company. if i find out that mopar had a better deal when he pushed this "easy care" deal i will want to find out why.

The Mopar warranty is honored by any Chrysler dealer in the US, Canada and Mexico with no pre-approval or paperwork.

i wish i had done more research on the extended warranty. i bought mine at steve white chrysler, dodge, jeep in hickory nc and i never even intended to get the extended warranty but during the paperwork signing the sales manager i guess was required to pitch it. i just wish he had mentioned the mopar extended warranty too so i could have decided which one was best. i'm guessing he gets some kind of incentive for pushing this 3rd party warranty. but i'm one of those conspiracy theory guys who thinks you can always follow the money trail to find the real reason why things happen.

Ironic how dealerships push Chrysler financing, but not Chrysler warrantee.

I got burned on a third party warrantee. Never again! They said the wouldn't cover the speedometer because it wasn't specifically mentioned.

My 04.5 had the Chrysler extended warranty, and my vent door broke and they wouldn't cover it, so read the fine print no mater who you buy it from.

Just got off the phone with Trish Steinhard at Riedman Motors a few minutes ago.

She quoted me $2080 for 8 yr/120,000 miles Chrysler Max Care on a new diesel ram truck.

If you look them up on the Internet you will see they are a little dealership in Indiana, the kind of place I like to deal with.

Maybe I'll get a quote from them when I get ready to order. There was certainly no high pressure selling from Trish.:)

i talked to the sales manager shawn at steve white chrysler in hickory today about the "easy care" extended service contract i was sold. at first i was told me it couldn't be canceled but i told him i read the contract and that it said i can cancel within 30 days and get a full refund. he then said i could cancel but that mopar likes to deny claims because according to him, the employees get paid $8 per hour and hate to do the paperwork generated by approving claims which makes their repair rate on claims around 60%. he said the "easy care" contract has employees who are paid on commission and only get paid when they approve your claim so their claim approval rate is 85%.
i'm no insurance expert but i am pretty good at smelling B.S. no company is going to give employees incentive to give away the company's money paying out claims. i emailed trish at riedman motors today and she also quoted me 2080 for 8 years/120,000 miles on my '14 tradesman. i will be switching tomorrow.

Just thinkin' here. Anyone know what happens after the factory three year warranty runs out and say I now ignore the change oil every six months since I don't drive but about 5K miles in that time? Will the factory warranty void coverage because we don't stay with the scheduled maintenance? I have about 122K on my 2004 and change every 3-4K and plan to do the same with the new one but what kind of flak could we expect without good record keeping?

Mike,

My guess is that wouldn't be a problem... UNTIL a failure happened which Cummins and/or Chrysler attributed to the lack of proper maintenance.

If there's a question about a lack of maintenance, undoubtedly the burden would be on you to prove you had maintained the vehicle per Chrysler's requirements. Always keep a log and receipts!

SNOKING...I am concerned about the welfare of the Arab nations and the lower price of oil these days. Wouldn't want them to run out of towels.

But actually it's just old age and habits. "If it begins to look dirty, change it as my pappy said. The dirt will kill your engine". I know this is not true today with our improved oils and filtering but I am somewhat concerned with the acids that build up, I figure with the lower mileage I drive I am spending about what the higher mileage guys spend. Of course the access to our oil filters now may change my mind. Not sure if I can give up that much blood anymore on a regular basis.

Just called Reidman motors about extended warranty and their phone numbers are inactive?

Anyone know if they are still in business?

That's a good price for Max coverage. I paid about that much for 7 year/70,000 miles online . But I didn't buy the warrantee because I'm worried about the Cummins failing . I bought it for the transmission, electronics, emissions, etc. The back up cam in the tailgate already blinked out when the wifey slammed the tailgate . It came back though after it's concussion healed

If you talk to Trish (she was the one who provides service contract quotes), it might not hurt to ask her what's up with Riedman Motors and the disconnected telephone numbers.
