GS, that is a great oil report! I am wondering how the TBN number relates to towing most of the time to towing 1/3 of the time with my truck.
OK, you only run 4-5K per change. What are you spending per change? Multiply that by 3, how does that compare to my 15K cost of $120 ? Not to mention I only need to remove my air intake ONCE.![]()

Well, in all actuality, my towing is around 50%, unless I am using my own trailer and not out delivering GatorMade trailers.GS, that is a great oil report! I am wondering how the TBN number relates to towing most of the time to towing 1/3 of the time with my truck.
Taking off that intake once is ,once toooooo many![]()
I am doing analysis every time for many reasons. One is I run at or a bit over 6 mo on my oil.
IMHO even with Blackstone included I am inexpensive and saving time doing what I am.
I replace my air and both fuel filters also at 15k then every other I do the trans.
I change my oil every six months. $ 50 per oil change, $100 per year. If you think there is some benefit to spending $120 per oil change every six months or SO, plus oil analysis , by all means continue to do so.

Why do you feel the intake ducting is difficult? (I am planning on doing it soon on my 17 and always did it on my 1st gens)
On a per mile basis and time saved I am ahead on this one so just admit it!![]()
I also know exactly how my engine is doing.

So to end this back and forth:
To all members, let it be known.....
Synthetic oil is not worth it to Cummins2014!!
Ok, now we can move on.
Nice to have that out of the way!
Next question does he use synthetic gear lube, if so why???
Now you guys are just being mean
Thats a good question, what do you recommend , and I will use just the opposite
Seriously, I do believe its supposed to be synthetic, but then I won't be dumping expensive synthetic oil out every six months, like some![]()
