Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 241 Hd Transfercase Broke!

Well ive been watching the transmission fluid kept going low in my trans (NV4500). Pulled the tranfer case plug and found my $15. 00 a quart gear oil. Took the truck over to the trans shop and thay pulled it apart and also found why the seal went bad. The input brg. on the transfercase was bad. Lost all its balls so to speak. I was wondering how many people if any have had this happen and if there is something that shoulde be given special attn.
