24v - emergency PARTS kit

as a logical followup to the tools question:

what emergency/ repair PARTS do you carry in/on/around your trucks ? Belt, hoses, ???

in some places here in the west parts are few and far between. how 'bout those of you who travel Baja and other points in Mexico?

Upper and lower radiator hose, termostat, coolant and water, extra oil, belt, and a full set of tools. I take this only on trips.

Spare air filter if wet/rainy.
RTV Black, one tube
Switched to Goodyear Lifetime belt and Practical solutions HD Tensioner pulley, kept oem belt as spare.
SPARE FUSES
Duct Tape
Channel Locks or radiator hose pliers
Small fuel tank
brand new siphon pump
fluids
service manuals
etc...

Extra parts? For what? I drive a Cummins not Chebby!!! I haven't and don't feel the need to carry anything for just in case. The only thing in my glovebox is extra CD's.

The extra pack of smokes and whiskey isn't a bad idea.

If you carry nothing else, carry an extra fuel filter and tools to change it. Although I have been fortunate, a few in our group have gotten bad fuel while headed for Canada. A few miles after a fill up, we had a filter clog so bad it struggled to idle. New filter and all was well. That was a small, simple problem that could have been costly.

Next best thing is a set of "Dickies" coveralls. They fit nicely under the seat... And it will pay for itself the first time you gotta change a spare with Sunday's best on. . Also, they not exactly insulated, but its better than nothing if its freezing outside.

These are good everyday parts, but as Jeff mentioned, a few extra parts/tools for a long trip is a good idea.

I carry a fine paint strainer bag in a jar when traveling in Mexico. Slip the strainer over the pump nozzle as a prefilter when filling. I caught over a 1/2 cup of crud in one fillup. Also carry a fuel filter and a tackle box sized tool box full of tools,mainly for the Dodge part of the truck,not the Cummins.
